Note to prospective players: Hundreds of applications have been sorted over hogwarts_hocus's 4+ years of existence, and of those, only a percentage have been formally ' popcorned'. The remainder are listed as current members, and theoretically may come back at any time. In practice, many are or have been inactive -- some of them have been inactive since their applications, a legacy of our origin as a Sorting comm -- and their former players might well be amenable to handing over the character to a new player. Inactive characters are marked here with an asterisk [*]. Characters that are active or quasi-active but have been put up for adoption by their players are marked by double asterisks [**].
The characters are listed by house, and within the houses, are listed not alphabetically but by the order in which they were Sorted (that is to say, the later entries within each House are the more recent arrivals; unpopcornings follow this sequence as well, rather than being re-inserted at the point of the original application). To find a given character quickly, use the find command in your browser (usually ctrl+F).
The username of the journal used by the current player should be listed after the character name, if the current player is not using the journal under which the character originally applied.
