Adam - part c
He does this.
He sits in the hub, at his station and waits for Jack to come back.
Jack comes back and Ianto calls to him quietly.
He wants Jack to lock him up in the Vaults. He instinctively believes that Jack will do the right thing. He trusts Jack implicitly.
He tells Jack straight out what he has done “You'll have to put me in the vaults. Lock me up. I killed three girls.”
Jack doesn’t believe him and approaches closer to Ianto who tells him “I'm serious. I murdered them, in cold blood. I took their bodies, and ...” He starts to obviously see things.
“You have to lock me away ... before I turn on you. None of you are safe.”
He goes to walk past Jack, to be locked away.
Jack grabs him.
Ianto is scared and worried here. His shoulders are raised and he is tense. He is also higher than Jack. Jack is looking directly at him and asks, “what’s happened to you?”
Watch his expression slowly change. He starts off determined to be locked up in the vaults and being strong.
Until, in the end, he starts to show Jack how worried and upset he is about what sort of man he is.
Jack soothes him like a child and this is the first instance we get in this episode of Jack being “fatherly”. Previously you could see him interact with the other team members in a fatherly type manner but not with Ianto, here he is the parent comforting the child.
“I'm a monster.”
Oh pretty eyelashes…
*ahem* sorry, back to the analysis
