Again in episode order, starting with the relevant part of Fragments.

Fragments - b

So Ianto has tried the cool spy boy routine and that didn’t work. Now he tries the tortured soul routine. First he plays up Jack’s supposed interest in anything gorgeous enough, now he moves onto playing on his sympathies. He is waiting outside the Tourist Office door and the team and Jack are unaware of him being there.

Where has the confident almost cocky young man from the night before gone?

Here you can see the nervousness on his face, making a peace offering. Still trying to use enticements to get in though

Jack is impressed with his coffee but still very non-committal, so Ianto keeps up the earnest act

Jack walks away from him for the first time

Ianto rushes in front, using his hand at about waist height to halt Jack. He then drops it straight away as soon as Jack stops

Being earnest

And open it seems. His body language is seemingly very open as well.

Jack walks away again

This time Ianto’s hand is higher, more chest height and uses his finger tips to touch Jack

Jack removes his hand by his own fingers and thumbs, not wanting to have too much physical contact with this man

Now we get a bit more desperation being shown by Ianto

“Three weeks. Three days. Let me prove myself to you. I'll work for nothing.” Ianto seems almost on the point of tears here. A complete contrast to the night before.

Jack walks away for the third time

Ianto is pleading with him about Canary Wharf. “I saw what they did at Canary Wharf” he is putting himself separate from Canary Wharf here. Interesting choice of words and he gets a lot more physical. He puts his hand on Jack’s shoulder to stop him, using his whole palm to connect. Each time he has gotten closer to more physical contact.

Jack rears back away from the contact. Ianto has no choice but to drop his hand. “You are not my responsibility. And we're not hiring.”

Ianto doesn’t follow him after the third try. But he lets Jack know that he isn’t giving up. “Same time tomorrow then”

And one final thing “I really like that coat.”
