“How are you, Luciano?” Damian asked, continuing as if Luke hadn’t just snapped at him.

“My daughter’s missing, and I got shot today, Damian.” Luke answered as Reid took the seat next to him. He ignored Damian’s questioning gaze. “How do you think I am?”

“I wanted us to talk alone, Luciano.”

“My name is Luke.” Luke said quietly. “And Reid is staying.” Damian sighed.

“We haven’t met, Mr…” Damian turned his gaze to Reid.

“Doctor.” Reid answered, his voice devoid of emotion. Luke recognized it as conscious effort on Reid’s part and squeezed his hand.

“This is Dr. Reid Oliver.” Luke introduced.

“The doctor who was going to operate on Noah?” Damian asked, looking a little confused.

“Yes.” Luke replied.

“I’m surprised that Noah is not in here with you.” Damian said.

“We broke up.” Luke told Damian, his voice stiff.

“I didn’t know.” Damian looked concerned. “Is there a chance you could work it out?”

“No.” Luke answered, glancing at Reid. They smiled at each other for a second. “Noah and I are just friends...and it’s really not any of your business.”

“That’s a shame.”

“You don’t get a say.”

“Luke, you’re my son. I love you.” Damian said. “I care about what’s going on in your life.”

“You love me?” Luke repeated. “Was it love when you hid that my father wasn’t really dead? Was it love when you tried to kill Aunt Meg? Was it love when you tried to force my mother to go away with you at gun point?”

“Everything I did was for you and your mother, I swear.”

“The funny thing is,” Luke began. “I believe you really believe that.” He paused. “It’s too little, too late, Damian.”

“Luciano…”

“Luke.” Luke corrected him. “You said you had information on Rose. Tell me what you know, or I’m walking out of here right now.”

“I don’t know where she is.” Damian told them. Luke started to get up, angry that he’d fallen for Damian’s lies, again. He moved too fast, a searing wave of agony washing over him and Luke slumped back to the chair.

“You idiot.” Reid said, getting up from his chair, and moving to Luke’s side. He knelt down, lifting up the edge of Luke’s t-shirt. “You’re bleeding again.”

“Sorry.” Luke whispered his apology.

“Don’t be sorry, just think before you move.” Reid admonished, before getting up and walking to the door. Luke watched as he gestured for Noah to approach them, and said something to him quietly. Noah nodded and then walked away.

“What did you say to him?”

“He’s getting my bag out of the car, so I can change your bandage. Unless you want to see reason and check yourself back into the hospital.” Luke glared. “Yeah, I didn’t think so.” Reid gestured that Luke should talk to Damian, who was watching them with narrowed eyes.

“Look, Damian.” Luke said. “Either you know something about Rose, or this has been a waste of time.”

“I’m here because I want to help.” Damian replied. “I don’t know where Rose is, but I can get in contact with people who can help you find her.”

“What kind of people?” Reid asked, and Luke glanced at him.

“The kind who can find people who don’t want to be found.” Damian answered.

“Great.” Reid sighed.

“All I have to do is make a few calls, Luciano.”

“Luke.” Luke reminded him. Damian simply smiled. Noah was back then, handing Reid his bag.

“Hello, Noah.” Damian greeted Noah, as Reid took the bag and knelt back down next to Luke.

“Damian.” Noah replied, shoving his hands in his pockets. He leaned against the doorway of the interrogation room.

“You’ve got your sight back.” Damian said. “Congratulations.”

“Thanks.” Noah mumbled, looking away. Reid lifted Luke’s shirt back up again, taking Luke’s hand and using it to hold the shirt in place. Reid carefully pulled back the gauze, and Luke winced.

“You popped a couple of stitches.” Reid told him. “You should go back to the hospital and get it stitched again.” Luke shook his head.

“No. I have to find Rose.”

“I know.” Reid sighed. “I figured that’s what you’d say.”

“Can you fix it?” Reid gave him a look that suggested Luke had just asked a stupid question.

“Not here. I’d need to give you a local and you would have to lie down.” Luke nodded as Reid replaced the gauze and taped it back over Luke’s wound.

“Is it serious, Doctor?” Damian asked.

“He nearly died.” Reid said softly, staring into Luke’s eyes briefly. He looked away, cleaning up the dirty gauze and tossing it in his bag. They were quiet for a moment.

“My offer stands, Luke.” Damian finally spoke. “I can make some calls; have people on the look out for her.”

“Those people…they wouldn’t hurt her, would they?”

“Luke, tell me you’re not considering this.” Noah interrupted. Luke turned his head to stare at his ex.

“I have to find her.”

“You don’t want to get involved with people like him.” Noah replied. “I think we’ve both learned that.” He paused. “If you let him involve these people, Luke, you’ll owe them.”

“Is that true?” Luke looked at Damian.

“I will be the one who owes them.”

“I can’t let you do that.”

“It’s my choice, Luciano.”

“No, Damian.” Luke replied. “Thank you for your offer, but no.” He started to get up, and winced, grabbing his side. Reid and Noah both moved to help him. Once he was on his feet, Reid looked at Noah.

“I’ll be just a minute. Can you help him out the car?”

“Reid, what are you doing?” Luke hissed.

“I’ll be right behind you.” Reid promised, touching Luke’s face gently for a second. Noah and Luke walked slowly to the door. Once they were through it, Reid shut the door and turned around to look at Damian.

“You’re in love with my son.” Damian stated. It wasn’t a question.

“Yes.” Reid agreed.

“You obviously have something to say, Dr. Oliver.”

“Stay away from Luke. Don’t contact him, don’t help him.”

“He’s my son. Everything I do is in his best interest.”

“You keep telling yourself that, and maybe one day it’ll be true.” Reid walked forward, his hands coming to rest on the table. “I’ve mostly only heard the stories of the things you’ve done, Mr. Grimaldi, and I don’t want you hurting Luke anymore.”

“I love Luciano.”

“You have a funny way of showing it.” Reid leaned towards Damian, pressing on the table. “Stay away from Luke. Don’t contact him, and don’t call who ever it was you were going to call for him. He doesn’t need your kind of help.” Damian’s lips curled into a sinister smile.

“Are you threatening me, Doctor?”

“It’s not a threat.” Reid said. “It’s a promise. If you hurt Luke again in any way, hell, if you so much as think about him, you’re going to regret it.”

“And what are you going to do about it?”

“I’m a world-renowned neurosurgeon, Mr. Grimaldi.” Reid answered. “No one would blink if I diagnosed you with a tumor and declared that you needed emergency surgery. The things that I could do to your brain…” He trailed off, smirking when he saw that his words had had the desired effect. Damian was looking at him with respect in his eyes.

“You’re serious.”

“As a heart-attack.” Reid straightened back up. “I think we understand each other, then.” Damian nodded slowly. “Great. It’s been a displeasure meeting you.” Reid turned and walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him.

“What was that about?” Luke asked.

“I’ll tell you later.” Reid promised. “We need to get you home so I can fix your stitches.” He helped Noah move Luke towards the door, Lily asking about Luke’s stitches and Holden trying to calm her down as they walked.

Reid could feel Damian’s eyes on him as they left, and he hoped he hadn’t made the situation worse.
