Summary: What if Zoe succeeded in her plans to have Luke's baby?
Author's Notes: This story picks up right after Luke has promised Reid that his foundation will donate money to the new wing.

Reid helped Luke inside his mother's house, walking slowly. He had his arm around Reid's shouders, and Reid had one arm around Luke's back. Luke kept his other hand on his side, firmly pressing on his wound. Holden was holding Luke's other arm tightly at the armpit, helping him stay upright. Together, Reid and Holden helped Luke sit in the arm chair.
“I'll go get you some clothes.” Holden said, disappearing upstairs. Luke had left the hospital in a pair of scrubs, unwilling to wait for someone to bring him clothes. Lily and Noah were the last inside, sitting down on the couch.
“Can I get you anything?” Lily asked Luke.
“Mom, I'm fine.” Reid glanced at Luke, who's face was pinched and an alarming shade of gray.
“You are not fine.” He said, perching on the coffee table, and picking up Luke's arm to take his pulse. “He could use a glass of water.”
“I'll get it.” Lily got up, and walked into the kitchen.
“I don't know who the bigger idiot is here. You, for wanting to do this, or me, for letting you.” Reid sighed. “Just...don't die on me, okay?”
“I'll get right on that.” Luke gave him a weak smile. “Are you going to be insulting me all day?”
“Are you going keep doing stupid things?” Reid tried to smile back, but couldn't quite make it work. Holden was back then, and Reid helped move Luke into the bathroom down the hall so he could get changed. He walked back into the living room to find Noah still sitting on the couch, and Lily sitting a glass of water on the coffee table.
Reid avoided both of their gazes as he walked over and sat down in the other arm chair.
“Did Luke really ask you to keep Rose if something happened to him?” Noah spoke up, his expression revealing that he'd been dying to ask the question since he'd heard Reid and Luke talking at the hospital.
“Not that it's any of your business, but yes.”
“Why would he do that?” Reid glared.
“I imagine that he wanted to make sure she was taken care of.”
“I'm his mother, Rose's grandmother.” Lily interrupted, but Reid was waiting for it. There was no way Lily Walsh was going to keep mum on this subject. “I would take care of her. Luke knows that.”
“I'm sure he does.” Reid replied. “You'll have to ask Luke about his reasons.”
“When did this...discussion happen?”
“Last night.” Noah nodded.
“You really care about him.”
“You thought I didn't?”
“Can you blame us?” Lily asked. “You spent a lot of time being mean and hurtful to my son.” Reid shrugged.
“The both of you need to listen, because I'm only going to say this once. I shouldn't have to say it all, least of all to either of you.” Reid paused, hardly believing that he was saying this and who he was saying it to. “I love Luke, and I love Rose. Don't ever doubt that.”
“Good to know.” Lily replied, giving him a small smile. Reid heard a groan in the hallway and was up out of the chair before Lily or Noah could move. He stepped into the hall to see Luke, now dressed, leaning heavily on Holden. Reid immediately went to his other side, and took some of Luke's weight.
The three of them made it slowly back into the living room, once again sitting Luke down in the arm chair.
“Do I have to tell you again what a stupid idea this is?” Reid asked Luke, who's breath was coming in pants. He handed Luke the glass of water as the blond shook his head. Luke took a sip, his hand shaking as he held the glass to his lips.
The phone rang, and Lily hurried to answer it. She talked for a few minutes.
“Of course. We'll be right there.” Lily hung up and turned around. “That was Margo. Damian should be arriving any time.”
“I guess we'd better go.” Luke said.
“You're sure you want to do this?” Lily asked her son. “You didn't want to see him after...” She trailed off.
“If it will help me find Rose, I'll listen to what he has to say.” Luke sighed. “I know the rest of you are against this, but...I have to.”
“We'll be right there with you.” Holden promised.
“Literally.” Reid added. “You're not going in there with him by yourself.”
“Reid, he wants to talk to me alone.”
“That's too bad.” Reid told him. “You're not going in there alone. What if you need medical attention?” They all knew what he was really saying. What if Damian tries to hurt you?
“Yeah. Okay.” Luke agreed. “Damian will just have to deal.”
“The first sensible thing you've said all day.”
“Shut up.”

“Is he in there?” Luke asked Margo, having just walked into the police station. He was still leaning heavily on Reid.
“He's waiting for you.” She looked at him with concern. “Are you sure your up for this?”
“No.” Luke shook his head. “But I'm going to do it anyway.”
“Just say the word, and the visit is over.” Margo told him. Luke nodded.
“Let's go.” Luke said. Reid tightened his grip on Luke's waist, knowing this was not going to go well. They followed Margo as she opened the door, stepping back to allow them inside.
As they walked inside the interrogation room, Reid caught sight of Damian Grimaldi for the first time. Sure, he'd seen his picture, but he'd never met the man. Damian glanced up at them.
“Luciano.” He greeted, sounding excited to see him.
“Spare me the pleasantries, Damian.” Luke snapped as Reid helped him into a chair. “Tell me what you know about Rose.”
