Summary: What if Zoe succeeded in her plans to have Luke's baby?
Author's Notes: This story picks up right after Luke has promised Reid that his foundation will donate money to the new wing.

“Damian wants to see me?”
“Yes.” Margo answered. “He says he has some information about Rose, and he'll only talk to you.”
“He can't know anything, Luke. He's in jail.” Holden reminded his son. He had his arm tightly around Lily.
“You know Damian, Dad. He's got connections.”
“You don't think he's behind this, do you?” Margo asked Luke. Luke thought about it for a few moments and then shook his head. Reid looked like he was biting his tongue, and Luke hoped he could keep his opinion to himself for a little longer.
“No, I'm pretty sure this is all Zac.” Luke told her. “He said that he wanted Rose because she was Zoe's. I believe him.”
“Luke is no shape to go see Damian, Margo, even if he wanted to.” Lily pointed out. Luke grimaced, knowing she was right.
“There's no way his doctor would discharge him today.” Reid added. “Luke just had major surgery.”
“Will Damian talk to me?” Lily asked.
“No, Lily. I don't want you with in five feet of him.” Holden said. “Last time you and Damian were in the same room, you ended up with a concussion.”
“We'll be at the police station, Holden.”
“No.”
“I'm not crazy about that idea either, Mom.” Luke told her.
“Like I want you in the same room as him either.” She leaned over and ran a hand through his hair.
“I think you're all insane for even entertaining the idea.” Reid announced.
“You were doing so well.” Luke met his gaze. Reid made a face.
“The guy obviously isn't all there upstairs, Luke.” Reid said. “I would know.”
“Reid.” Luke used his annoyed tone.
“Luke.” Reid used the same tone right back.
“It's got to be me, doesn't it Margo?” Luke looked away from Reid.
“I'm afraid so, kiddo.” Margo sighed. “He specifically said that it had to be you.”
“Yeah, okay. Set it up.”
“You're sure?” Luke nodded.
“I'll go make some calls and we'll see you at the station.” She promised before turning and leaving.
The entire room protested at once.
Luke ignored them, pushing the covers back with a wince.
“What the hell do you think you're doing?” Reid snapped, cutting off everyone's protests.
“Getting out of bed.”
“I meant what I said, Luke. I'll have you restrained.”
“Reid, I have to.” Luke said, his eyes filling with tears. He knew Reid was going through hell too, that he was worried about Rose just as much as Luke was. “It's Rose.”
“I know that.” Reid kept his tone even.
“So then you understand why I have to go.”
“No, I don't.”
“I'm not going to do this with you right now.”
“No, you're not.” Luke sat up, holding his side.
“I don't want to hear it, Reid.”
“We'll you're going to listen anyway.” Reid tried to push him back down, and Luke moved hands away.
“Reid, I mean it. I'm going.” Luke slid out of the bed, gripping the bed rail as his feet hit the floor. He doubled over, his hand pressed into his side.
“You can't even stand!” Reid's voice rose a little.
“I can't believe I'm about to say this, Luke, but Reid is right.” Noah finally spoke up.
“Stay out of this, Noah.” Luke exclaimed.
“Maybe it's not my place anymore, but I still care about what happens to you.” Noah replied. “And you are in no condition to meet with Damian.”
“I'll be fine.”
“I can't believe I'm about to say this but...listen to Noah.”
“I can't believe you just said that either.” Reid gripped Luke's shoulder, standing in front of him. “This is the best lead we've gotten so far, Reid. I can't just ignore it.”
“That's exactly what you're going to do.” Reid insisted. “I love Rose too, you know. I promised you that I'd take Rose if anything happened to you. I don't want have to fulfill that promise today.”
“No. Damn it, Reid.” Luke sighed. “I'm doing this and you can help me or not. But you're not going to stop me.”
“Fine.” Reid snapped. “Don't expect me to sit around and watch.” He turned on his heel, brushing past Luke's parents, headed for the door. He put his hand on the door knob.
“Reid, wait!” Luke tried to follow him, stumbling and nearly falling. He cried out in pain as Holden caught him and held him up. Reid turned back around, swearing under his breath.
“How do you talk me into this shit?” He asked Luke, walking back over and putting his arm around Luke's other side.
“You love me?”
“Don't let it go to your head.”
Luke just grinned.
