Author's Note: This story starts the night that Noah finds Luke in Olde Towne and takes him home. It picks up right after Noah leaves. In my head, that makes Luke 19 and Reid 30,(using the DVD of Reid around 12 yrs old as being taped in 1990). This might end up being the dirtiest thing I've ever written. *hides* Huge thank you's to my official beta for this fic, stl29tide, and alissablue for all her EPIC research. :)

Basically, I'm hijacking the Paul/Josie/Dusty plot for my purposes. Don't know who Josie is? If you visit Dusty's Wikipedia page here, you can read up on it. I'm changing mostly just the dates for the plot, so it runs alongside Luke's plot line. I will probably AU it a lot. Also, in my fic, Dusty/Josie have known each other for a few weeks, and it was Paul's idea to call in Reid (He told Dusty that it was prove Josie was faking, but in reality he wants Reid to keep his scheme going).

Brian came in while Luke and Jade were talking.

“Have you been waiting long?” He asked.

“No, Jade and I were just catching up.” Luke said, standing. Brian pulled some papers out of his briefcase and held them out to Luke.

He flipped to the tabbed pages and started signing,.

“Don't you even want to know what you're agreeing to?”

“Nope.” Luke replied, signing the last page.

“How are you doing?”

“I'm really tired of people asking me that.” He threw the pen down. “I haven't had a drink in seven days, my parents are threatening to disown me, and I have to play by everyone's rules or I'll be shipped off to a rehab. How do you think I am?”

“Luke.” Jade interrupted. “Calm down.” Luke sighed, running a hand over his face.

“I'm sorry, Brian, I just...”

“It's okay, Luke.”

Lucinda chose that moment to join them, casting a disparaging glance in Jade's direction.

“Luke, dear.” She said, crossing the room. He held himself stiffly as she kissed him on the cheek.

“Grandmother.” He greeted. “Well, this has been fun, I'm going to go.” Luke turned to head to the door, and his mother walked in.

“You'll never believe all the sales!” She exclaimed, juggling bags in her hands. Brian moved to help her, and she looked up, seeing Luke. “Hi, Honey.” She said, her voice quiet.

Luke didn't blame her. He'd been awful when she and his dad had come to see him at the cottage. It didn't matter how bad he felt, though. He was still angry with her, and that squashed any guilt or regret that might have sprung up.

“Mother.” She closed her eyes against his tone.

“Jade, I got some great things for you.”

“Really? Thanks, Lily.”

“Ah, come now, Lily.” Lucinda spoke up. “I would have though you'd have learned your lesson by now. This girl's a user. I mean, my goodness, buying her all this stuff. It's like throwing good money after bad!”

Luke could tell that Jade was hurt, and he panicked. God only knew what she would say.

“Well, at least I don't have a gay husband.” She snapped back.

Anything but that.

“Jade, how about you and me get out of here.” He said, taking her by the arm and pushing her towards the door.

“Young lady, just a moment please.” Lucinda stopped them. “Repeat what you said, louder.”

“Look, chill out.” Jade said. “I was just trying to say that I wish we could all be as perfect as you and your husband.” She tried to cover. Luke sighed. This was not going to go well.

“If you have problems with me, that's just fine.” Lucinda replied. “But why are you casting aspersions on Brian?”

“Casting aspersions?” Jade repeated. “Is that what we're calling it these days?” She glanced at Luke.

“Jade, knock it off.” Luke snapped.

“Okay.” Lucinda interjected. “You know what you said, and we know what you said. What I want to know is why?”

“Grandmother, this is not a big deal.” Luke jumped in. “Just let it go.”

“I was just mouthing off.” Jade tried to explain it away.

That seemed to set Lucinda off more, and she tore into Jade, until Brian stopped her, trying to insist that she go lie down. Lucinda refused, insisting, demanding answers.

Lily interrupted, trying to calm everyone down.

“You know how she is, Mom.” Luke reminded her, forgetting for a minute he was mad at her. “She just says stuff to rile people up.”

“I do not.” Jade protested.

“All right, Luke, darling.” Lucinda said. “You know exactly what she meant. So why don't you just com out, and tell all of us here, what this is all about.”

“Stop it!” Brian shouted, and they all went quiet.

Luke went out on the porch, hugging his jacket around himself in the cold. Lily came outside behind him.

“I have to ask.” Lily said, stopping next to him. “Is this what caused you to drink the last few weeks?”
She paused. “Do you know something about Brian?”

“My problems didn't start with him, but...” Luke answered.

“But what?”

“He didn't make it any easier.”

“What do you mean?” Lily asked.

“Uh, well, the night of Jack's bachelor party, he tried to kiss me.” Luke told his mother. Lily's mouth dropped open in shock.

“You didn't say anything?”

“What was I supposed to say?” Luke replied. “At first, I was like. 'Oh, my God, is this even really happening?'” He sighed. “I didn't know what to do, and Brian was just always there, find a reason to touch me or invade my personal space, and I...” He trialed off.

Lily put her hand on her forehead.

“Oh, Luke.” She said.

“I felt like I couldn't tell anyone, but Reid, he knew and I...he tried to help.”

“You're really close to him, aren't you?”

“Define close.”

“Luke, did you...and Reid...”

“Are we having sex?” Luke shook his head. “Not exactly. Did we? Yeah.”

“Luke, you had sex with a guy you barely knew?” Lily whispered.

“I know. I made a mistake.” Luke told her. “Well, actually, at the time it was a mistake. Now, I'm really glad it happened.”

“Even though you hurt Noah?”

“What about all the times he hurt me?” Lily sighed again, and tried to pull him in for a hug. He wrenched away from her.

“I thought you were getting it, Mom, trying to get me. But you don't.” Luke disappeared back into the house.

Reid, it's Luke.
I need you.
