Cain pushed into the apartment with a heavy sigh and grimaced as he shifted weight from one foot to the other. Stepping on his heel, Cain pulled his foot out of one boot and then the other. He leaned over to pick up the shoes with a groan and frowned as he looked at the heel of his left boot.

Those boots were barely five yea- annuals old. 'Yeah, five annuals before you went into the suit. Which was eleven annuals ago.' Those were his favorite boots, too. Clenching his jaw slightly, Cain continued toward the bedroom and looked at the heel again as he stopped between the bathroom and bedroom doorways.

"Hey, Kiddo. Looks like the boots have-" Cain stopped short as he looked up to see DG standing in the closet, wearing his blue jacket. He raised an eyebrow and cocked his head slightly, and stepped into the bedroom. "You goin' somewhere?" he asked, stopping at the end of the bed.

DG nodded and tightened the grip she had on the jacket. "Yeah, actually." She was standing in the doorway of the small walk-in closet and she glanced up to him for a moment, then back to the shirts hanging next to her.

"Jacket's a little big, there, Princess."

"Well, I was changing when you got here, so I reached for the closest thing."

"Can I make a suggestion?" he asked with a smirk. DG rolled her eyes slightly and forced a smile. "Pants," Cain said simply.

"Thank you," she snapped. Cain bit back a smile and looked at the floor. "Do you mind?" she asked a second later. Cain glanced up and DG made a face and nodded toward the door. Cain’s eyes moved toward the door and stopped at the sight of the fabric on top of the dresser and he blinked once.

"Sorry," he said with an embarrassed smile and he turned toward the door. DG moved one hand to her forehead and tapped a few times with the heel of her hand and let a sigh slip. She shrugged out of the jacket and reached for the hanger, replacing the jacket as she moved out of the closet and over to the dresser for her bra.

She was two steps back to the closet when she heard her phone ring. 'Oh, don't. Don'tdon'tdon't,' she chanted. A second later, Cain was in the doorway with her phone in his hand. He held it up and opened his mouth to speak, but no sound came out of the former-Tin Man.

DG closed her eyes and wondered if she could make herself invisible as Sasha's words repeated in her head. Taking a deep breath, DG opened her eyes and looked at Cain, who was still staring at her. DG raised her hands slightly and decided to just deal with whatever followed.

Cain blinked when the phone beeped, indicating a voice mail, and he looked down to the phone in his hand. "I, uh..." He took a step toward the dresser and set the phone down, trying very hard not to look at DG. Now it was DG's turn to open her mouth and speak.

She took a few steps toward him, blinked once and shrugged. "What the Hell..." She took the last few steps between them and pulled Cain's face to hers. His arms went around her and she kissed him much more passionately than any other time in the previous two weeks. Somewhere inside Cain's head, an alarm went off, warning him to back away.

As DG's hands moved from his neck down his chest and to his sides, however, Cain decided to ignore the bells and let his own hands move to her waist. Forcing himself to pull away from her, Cain's eyes searched DG's for a next move; he was so out of his element all of a sudden that he wasn't sure what was right or wrong, up or down.

A smile ghosted across DG's face and she gripped his t-shirt at the waist and tugged. Her eyes never left his; his only broke contact for the few seconds that the shirt was being pulled over his head. They stared at each other for a moment and Cain shook his head slightly.

"DG," he warned at a near whisper. She put a finger to his lips and let her hand drop, running her finger from his chin to his chest and heart, all the way down to his waist and, when his breath caught at the touch of her finger on his stomach, DG nodded ever-so-slightly.

Cain's hand pressed against the small of DG's back and he pulled her toward him as his other hand reached for her neck, also pulling her toward him. He pressed strong kisses along her jaw and neck and DG actually had to gasp for air at one point. She hooked her thumbs over the waist of his jeans, praying that it would be enough to hold her upright as her entire body went tingly.

Biting her lip, DG took a couple of shallow breaths and moved her hands to Cain's belt buckle and she started pulling him toward her as she stepped back toward the bed. Cain's lips found hers again and she managed to get his belt undone and clear of the belt loops before they reached the end of the bed.

She got the button undone and managed the zipper as Cain kissed her again and he reached for her hands, pulling them away from his waist. As she ran her hands along his chest, Cain worked himself out of his pants and his arms went around DG again, picking her up and walking around the end of the bed.

As they both moved down to the bed, Cain pulled his lips from DG's and he stared down at her for a moment. "'s been a long time since..." he trailed off, suddenly embarrassed.

"I hear it's like riding a bike," DG replied quietly. Cain laughed and a smile crossed his lips as the nerves calmed slightly.

"I've never ridden a bike, Princess."
