Simon got the box open and Cain helped pull out the various pieces of the grill while DG went inside for the toolbox. Jeanie was still not happy about the purchase, but that didn't stop her from getting her purse and heading for the grocery store. When DG came back outside, she stopped short to hear Simon asking Cain about DG and what his intentions might be.

She tried to hold back a laugh at the look on Cain's face and gave the toolbox a good shake before she came around the corner. "Okay, let's do this," she said with a smile. As she passed Cain, DG gave him a look to let him know she'd heard Simon's question. Cain made a face and she just smiled.

Cain was busy putting together the side racks while Simon attached the lid to the base and DG ran the gas line. "I left the propane in the truck," Simon said suddenly, looking around their workspace. He stepped around DG and moved toward Cain, but Cain was already up.

"The... round thing?" Cain asked, making a motion to indicate the tank. Simon nodded and Cain nodded back before turning and raising a hand. Simon smiled as Cain opened the latch on the fence and disappeared. He turned and saw DG smiling at the grill and he sighed.

"Okay, young lady," he said, kneeling next to her. "What's his story?" DG huffed a laugh - she'd told Cain that Simon would ask within an hour, but Cain didn't believe her.

"He's my friend," she said as she tightened the clasp holding the gas line in place.

"Friend-friend or-" Simon fished. DG turned to him and let out a breath.

"Friend. Best friend, except for you," she added a moment later with a nod to Simon. He winked and they both looked up as Cain came back into the yard with the tank. As Simon took the tank from Cain, he turned to look over his shoulder.

"So, what part of Kansas are you from, again?" he asked, sensing there was something else going on with the two of them. He thought it was odd to drop Cain off at the park with a trunk, and then see him a few hours later with DG and without the trunk.

Cain looked up and shot a look to DG, who shrugged. "I think we should tell him." Cain's eyes went wide and Simon turned back to DG. She gave him a glance and nodded back to Cain. "He can take it." Simon looked between the two of them for a moment as they had an entire conversation simply by head motions and eye contact.

Simon found it rather intriguing.

Cain threw his hands up in defeat finally and DG set down the wrench. "Simon," she said with a sigh. "Cain's not from Kansas." Simon threw another glance back to Cain.

"Well, that's nothin' to be ashamed of. It's not like you're from... Nebraska." DG snorted and looked back to the grill as Simon blinked. "You're not from Nebraska, are you?" Cain was still glaring at DG.

"He's not from Nebraska," DG stated. "In fact, he's not even from here," she said slowly, waiting for Simon to take in the words. Simon turned and raised an eyebrow. "You remember that discussion we had about the episode of-" Simon pointed to her with a nod.

"You mean the one where you ended up tellin' me the story about how your folks threw you into a tornado and a witch had possessed the Queen and there was a guy in suit?" DG closed her eyes and breathed a laugh.

"That's the one. Only, the witch possessed the Princess..." DG said quickly, trying not to laugh at the look on Cain's face. "Not the Queen." Simon shook his head, not following DG's original question. DG looked at Cain and dropped her shoulders. "Oh, what? It's not like he believed me," she directed to Cain, his mouth locked into a frown.

"Did you tell him about the Realm? Toto? Glitch's zipper?" DG glared at Cain.

"Okay, what's with the 'tude?" Cain didn’t blink. Instead, he looked at Simon.

"Did she tell you about the part where her parents are robots?" Simon looked at DG, who crossed her arms in defiance. "Or the part where she died." Simon turned back to Cain, who nodded to DG.

"I got better," she mumbled with a frown, knowing that now was not the time to start a fight with Cain. Taking a deep breath, DG reached for Simon's arm and gave him a smile. "Cain is from the Eastern Guild of the Outer Zone. And if it wasn't for him..." DG turned her head to look at Cain and gave him a regal nod. "We wouldn't be having this conversation," she added slowly, turning back to Simon.

"And I'm not crazy," she added quickly, as Simon opened his mouth. He took a deep breath instead and turned to Cain, assuming the man would probably just shake his head as if this story was just an insane ramble. To Simon's surprise, Cain didn't nod. He shrugged.

In fact, Simon noted, the man almost looked uncomfortable that the story had been told.

"So..." Simon started, looking back to DG. "You really are..." DG nodded as Simon looked back to Cain for a moment. "Teal’c." DG reared back laughing and clapped her hands together.

"Indeed."
