Throwin' off the groove for a sec: pretend that Wyatt Cain DOESN'T look like Neal McDonough. Humor me. :) *waves you on ala Leo DeCaprio* Continue.

The next two weeks went by without much excitement; Cain and DG each went to work, Cain went to class and they had dinner at the diner twice. Cain was looking forward to the weekend mainly because he wanted to get the class project out of the way - he still didn't understand how watching a movie of an event was better than reading about it. DG and Simon each told him to look at it as another way of learning.

Simon aimed for the visual aspect, which DG compared to the TDESPHTL. She'd rather have not brought the thing up, but it was the best comparison she could make for the argument. Cain seemed to not be so bothered by the mention of it, probably because she'd actually called the thing the "Tee Tee Eff whatever-the-damn-acronym-is."

Simon was quite happy to host the boys and join them for the movie. Jeanie, of course, was also glad, simply because it would get Simon out of her hair. DG offered to help out in the bakery, since Jeanie would be short-staffed. And since they had roughly ten hours of freedom, both were happy for the break. Of course, they spent most of the morning looking at the pictures from the gala, which DG had finally gotten copies of.

Cain was rather proud of himself at one point, when he realized something about the dialogue. "He's Are Gee Bee," he stated, pointing to the screen. Josh and Scott looked at him and Other-Mike paused the movie. Cain motioned for him to roll it back a few lines and they watched again. "There," Cain said, pointing to the screen again.

"Are Gee-what?" Trent asked, shaking his head.

"Red-Green blind," Cain stated, shaking his head. "He never would have made it as a Ti-officer," Cain corrected himself, realizing that he was about to start a ramble about the Zone and Tin Man regulations. Maybe it wasn't that big an issue on this side, rare as it was in the Zone. Seeing a bunch of confused stares, Cain pointed to the screen again. "He's Red-Green blind. He needs that guy," he pointed to another person on the screen. "-to tap him when the light changes because he can't see it."

"Color-blind," Simon added a moment later, catching on to what Cain was explaining. The boys all turned to look at the screen and Other-Mike rewound it again.

"Holy-"
"I wouldn't have even noticed..."
"Huh."
"Point for Wyatt. Least someone's payin' attention."

Cain rolled his eyes as the scene continued and saw movement out of the corner of his eye. Turning, he saw DG standing in the doorway, watching them watch the movie. She gave Cain a smile and a thumbs up, to which he nodded in response, and then returned to the bakery. Cain looked back to the TV and jumped as an explosion echoed from the television.

Since the bakery closed around three for the day, Jeanie and DG ended up heading down the street to the store to get some extra things for dinner. They took every aisle, regardless if they needed anything from it; when they reached the cake mixes, DG reached for a box and turned to Jeanie.

"What do you think the difference in the time is between a gas oven and a wood stove?" Jeanie pulled the box from DG's hand and put it back on the shelf, shaking her head.

"You just have to keep a close eye on it. Soon as the top starts to brown-" she said, pulling DG away from the offending boxes. "Are you getting a wood stove?" Jeanie asked, stopping at the spice rack.

"No," DG said, picking up one of the jars of dried leaves and reading the label. "We don't have gas ovens at home. Altitude instructions are enough of a pain there, but-" Jeanie looked at DG and her eyes narrowed.

"I think I can help you with that," she said with a smile.

Jeanie and DG returned to the bakery to find the Simon, Scott, Trent and Other-Mike talking about the grill, and Cain and Josh still trying to focus on the movie. Jeanie went inside to deal with her purchases while DG took a seat near Cain and Josh.

"How's it goin'?" she asked, noticing that both of them were both losing interest in the film. Josh reached for the remote and paused the movie as he huffed.

"Don't get me wrong, I've got nothin' but respect for these guys-" he said, glancing at Cain, who'd leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes. He opened his eyes and blinked a few times before leaning forward for his notebook.

"Do you have to watch the whole thing?" DG asked, reaching for the case and looking at the back. Cain and Josh both gave her a look then turned to look at each other. "Oh, guys," DG sighed. "Let me guess: your teacher suggested you watch this-" she stated, holding up the case. "-for the invasion and the first few days?" Josh and Cain both nodded. "And how long has it been?" she asked, nodding to the screen.

Josh looked to the screen and shrugged. "A few months, maybe," he said sheepishly. DG set the case back down and rubbed at her temple for a second before turning to look at Cain and Josh.

"What?" Cain asked, with a huff. DG shook her head and dropped her hand and pushed herself up from the chair. She reached for the remote and stopped the player before turning back to Cain and Josh.

"I'm just trying to figure out which one of you is Gilligan," she said, pointing between them.

"Hey!" Josh squeaked, giving DG a dirty look. Shaking her head again, DG breathed a laugh and moved over to check on Simon before heading back inside to find Jeanie. Cain and Josh stared over their shoulders as she walked away and then turned back to each other.

"Who's Gilligan?" Cain asked. Josh breathed a laugh and did a double-take at the look on Cain's face.

"Dude, please tell me you're joking."
