Unexpected WENN last we met: "Come on, Barb," Michael said to Josh's mom. "We can't let them show us up." She nodded and they also joined the others on the floor.
On the second verse, DG stopped Josh long enough to turn around and help Cain, who was trying to look down at his steps. "Look at Lynn," she said with a point and tapped his hip. "This leg first. Forward, back and forward," she said, adding the slightest push and pull with each direction. Lynn shook her head and laughed.
"You haven't stepped on any toes, sir. You are doing just fine." Cain frowned anyway and breathed through his nose. After a few more tries, he finally had it figured out. He thought.
About halfway through the song, Lynn decided she wanted a chance at dancing with Josh and pushed Cain and DG together with a wink. DG laughed as Cain still had no idea what he was doing. "This music is too fast," he said with a laugh of his own.
"They don't get down and rock in the Zone?" DG asked as Cain watched Josh spin Lynn, push Lynn away and spin her back. DG laughed and nodded once to Cain. Tightening her grip on his hand, she pushed him away and pulled him back, hoping she could get a full spin out of him.
It wasn't perfect, but they weren't exactly going for the gold. For the rest of the song, they pretty much just laughed, as they had stopped dancing all together and DG was trying to teach Cain the mastery of the spin. As the song came to a close, they'd nailed it.
Everyone applauded and cheered as the band took their bows. The crowds began to disperse as the band began packing up their instruments and everyone started saying goodbye to everyone else.
"What do you need me to do?" Cain asked as Michael and Lynn moved off to toward the patio to fulfill their final host and hostess duties.
DG glanced around and shook her head. "The caterers are dealing with the tables, the band's on their own and..." DG shook her head again and nodded toward Josh and his mother. "You guys don't have to stay."
"I go when you go, Princess." DG tilted her head and sighed, knowing that there was no point in arguing with Cain.
"Relax," she ordered, pointing to one of the tables, where Josh had just taken a seat. She gave Cain a nod and smiled as he moved over to Josh's side. Next, she went to see what Michael needed her to do.
By the time most of the guests had cleared out, Michael turned to DG. "Why are you still here?" DG laughed and nodded to a couple passing by. Michael took DG's shoulders and turned her toward him. "Go home. I mean it," he added a moment later, complete with stern boss-face.
DG moved over to Cain and Josh, who were both now tieless and talking about class, and huffed as they turned to look at her. "I've been booted," she said with a pout.
Josh raised an eyebrow at Cain and smiled before pushing himself up from the table. "Good, because I'm tired."
Cain pushed up from the table as well and gave the place another look. "They gonna have this place cleared out by morning?" he asked, trying to imagine guests enjoying the setting with a large platform right in the middle of the lawn.
Josh waved to the stage and motioned for Cain and DG to lead the way. "They'll have this place cleared in no time. People tomorrow won't even know there was a party." They stopped off inside the Gallery to get their coats and headed out to the parking lot. Josh and Cain laughed on the drive back because DG was fighting to stay awake with everything she had.
"Thank you for the ride, Josh," DG said, giving him a wave from the sidewalk outside her building. Josh blew her a kiss and waved to Cain.
"I'll call you tomorrow about that project." Cain nodded and pointed to Josh.
"Don't lose those pictures," he ordered, glancing across the street to the bakery.
"I won't," Josh nodded and checked over his left shoulder before pulling away from the curb. Cain and DG watched him drive away and stood still for a moment before Cain pulled DG toward the building.
"Come on, Princess. It's way past your bedtime." DG laughed as she reached for her key.

Cain held the door to the apartment open for DG, who was shrugging out of her coat as she entered. She moved into her room as Cain took off his jacket and laid it across the stool. He unbuttoned the sleeves of the shirt and folded the cuffs up a few times as he moved into the bathroom.
As he passed DG's door, he blinked and leaned back to look into her room. He sighed and stepped into her room, leaning over to pick up the gold belt that had slipped off the end of the bed, probably as she had laid down. As he rounded the end of her bed, Cain reached for the heel of each of her shoes and pulled them off her feet.
He moved around to the other side of the bed, set the shoes on the chair next to the dresser and placed the belt on top of the shoes. He turned back to the bed and leaned over to reach for DG's hand. "Come on, Princess... you're gonna ruin your fancy dress," he said quietly, pulling on her arm.
DG groaned and pressed her head into her pillow. "Two minutes," she breathed. Cain shook his head and he pulled back, stopping when DG squeezed his hand. "Stay," she murmured, patting the mattress with her other hand.
"What?" Cain asked, stepping back.
"Tell me when it's been two minutes," she yawned into the pillow. Cain gave her a smile and nodded. This was a bad idea. He dropped to the other side of the bed and rested his head against the headboard. He hadn't been in this position for months; not since his unfortunate reaction to the sun of this side.
"Did you have a good time?" she mumbled into the pillow.
Cain let a smile slip and nodded once. "I did."
DG breathed a laugh into her pillow and turned her head enough to ask: "How many times did Coop grab your butt?"
Cain smirked and looked at the far wall. "Seven." DG breathed another laugh and shifted, throwing an arm over Cain's stomach and resting her head along the curve of his ribcage.
"'s a good butt to grab," she said quietly, mere seconds from sleep winning out. Cain raised an eyebrow at his new situation and fought the urge to laugh. This was a bad idea, indeed. But, for two minutes... he'd risk it.
Besides, it was only two minutes.
