DG's eyes were closed and her chin was down - not quite touching her chest, but almost. Thoughts were there, but swirling, just out of reach so that she couldn't focus on one clearly. Normally, a warm bath was considered relaxing.

Well, she was relaxed. But that wasn't the point. She was in the tub. With Wyatt Cain. She was in the tub with Wyatt Cain, her husband. Husband by mystic jar of goop. Mystic jar of goop that seemed to think the two of them were meant to be.

They'd been keeping up the act for almost a year, 'married' only for the last few months; and Cain had been away for two of them. While she'd fantasized about his return to the palace at Finaqua, complete with a big, dramatic kiss and admission of love and then they’d go off to bed and, well... do what they did... she hadn't actually considered he'd return to kiss her, confess his love and then do what he did.

Not that she was complaining.

Feeling the lightest pressure on her shoulder blade, DG opened her eyes and turned her head, resting her jaw against her clavicle. The smile was automatic - his eyes were the most amazing shade of blue - and she glanced off to the side of the tub for a moment, trying to refocus her thoughts. Which was hard enough when she was that close to him. In the tub.

"You okay?" Cain asked with a frown, pressing another kiss to her shoulder, a bit higher than the last one. DG's eyes closed again and she let out a slow, deep breath, realizing that there was no way she’d be able to focus on anything. Ever again.

"Yeah," she breathed, leaning back to rest her head against his chest. Cain smiled and wrapped his arms around her, pressing another kiss to the side of her head.

"What were you thinking about?" he asked into her wet hair, then turned enough to press his cheek and nose into that spot just behind her ear. Her hand found his knee under the water and she sighed.

"I thought my life was strange... but, this last year," she said, turning to give Cain a smile. "We're married." Cain smiled and pulled her hair back and pushed it over her right shoulder so he had clear access to her neck. "And we just proved a prophecy true, and I know that's not the right word, but-" she sped up as Cain raised an eyebrow.

"I know about the jar." Cain nodded once and bit his lip slightly. They really should have told her. "It's okay," DG said, giving his knee and squeeze. Cain looked back up to her and gave her a tight smile. "And, y'know... throw a prehistoric shrimp in the lake out there, plan a town picnic... and we've got a recipe for a bad Sci-Fi movie."

Cain didn't understand, which was nothing new, but he loved when she said such random things. DG took another breath and shrugged. "Just wondering when I'm gonna wake up in Kansas to find out I've overslept. Again," she said with slight exasperation. A sly grin slid across Cain's face as he ran a trail of kisses along DG's shoulder and neck.

Turning her head, DG stretched at an uncomfortable angle to meet her lips with his and nearly jumped out of her skin a moment later. Flailing her arms, Cain laughed heartily as she splashed water and turned around to face him. "You're still here," Cain said with a wink.

DG fought the smile and leaned into Cain, hovering her lips just over his. "How 'bout I reach down there and pinch somethin'?" she asked, realizing that she couldn’t stay mad at him for long. Cain raised his eyebrows in challenge and pulled DG toward him.

She really could get used to kissing him. Who needed oxygen anyway?

Her hands moved around his sides and came to rest on his back for a moment before she reached for the edge of the tub and pushed herself up. "This is really uncomfortable," she mumbled, trying not to break the contact of their lips.

"That's why most people don't do that here," he mumbled back, running his hands along her sides, pulling her back down. They sucked face - for lack of a better term in DG's mind, as she was having trouble getting the hamster back on the wheel - for another minute and she finally had to pull away.

"We should really get out of the tub," she said, raising an eyebrow, holding up her hand to look at her fingers. Pruny was beginning to set in, and she doubted it was a sexy look. "The Warden could come in here any second and then we'd have some 'splainin' to do, Lucy." Cain breathed a laugh and nodded in agreement.

But not because he was worried about the Warden. Or getting pruny. He wanted to take his wife back to bed.

Grumbling, Cain pushed himself up enough to reach over to the edge of the counter, grabbing his straight edge. As he sat back down in the tub, he pulled the razor open and gave DG a look. She moved back to Cain and pushed his hand away, pulling the razor from his hand carefully.

"What do you think you're doing?" she asked with a frown.

"I was gonna take care of this scruff, Princess," he said in a low tone, watching as she closed the razor.

"Oh, no you aren't," she stated breathily, giving him a quick kiss and running her finger along his jaw. DG pushed herself up, reaching over Cain to put the razor back on the counter and he smirked at his new view. Running his hands up her sides, Cain pressed a kiss to that spot right where her ribcage met and DG's breath caught.

"If we don't out of this tub, right now," DG said with a short breath. "-I will kill you." Cain smiled and kissed her again before she pulled away and glared at him. He leaned forward to reach for the plug and raised his eyebrows as his hand broke the surface with the plug and chain in hand.

DG raised an eyebrow in response and shook her head with a laugh as she pushed herself up and reached for a towel. Cain leaned back and rested an arm on the edge of the tub, leaning against his hand as he watched her wrap the towel around herself. "Come on, Tin Man," she said, holding out a hand to help him up.

Cain reached for her hand and pushed himself up as DG reached for another towel and held it up. As Cain shook his head and stepped out of the tub, DG moved over to the sink and picked up the ring. Just as she replaced it on her middle finger, Cain was behind her, turning her around and picking her up. And kissing the living daylight out of her.

She wasn't terribly sure what he was trying to do - though she had an idea - but soon found out when he tried to set her down on the countertop. Unfortunately, he was so in the moment that he didn't pay attention to where he had set her down. "Oh my God!" DG shrieked, letting go of Cain's arm and reaching back to grab her backside in a rather unladylike fashion. "Ow," she winced, trying not to cry as she ran her hand over her left cheek.

Cain frowned and looked behind DG to see that she'd landed square against the faucet. Cain's hand moved down to cover hers. "Sorry," he said, giving her brow a light kiss.

DG's hands moved back to Cain's waist and she nodded toward the bedroom. "This is a dangerous room." Cain snorted a laugh and picked DG up rather effortlessly and carried her back into the bedroom, dropping her onto the bed in one motion, as if she weighed nothing at all.

As he moved onto the bed next to her, Cain leaned over DG and stared at her for a moment. DG moved her left hand to his chest, covering his heart, and smiled at him. Cain's eyes moved to her hand and the ring and, planting his weight on his right, he covered her hand with his as he leaned down to kiss her.

____
I meant to include the part about DG stopping Cain from shaving, but I forgot. And it demanded to be written.
But the rest of it happened.
I figure y'all will take what you can get. And you'll like it.
;)

THIS is why I leave "smut" to the professionals....
