100 things: 100 photos - photo 18

I have mentioned many times my obsession with reflections, and obviously I'm obsessed with buildings too, so I can never resist a photo like this. I love how the interplay of layers, surfaces and information creates an image that takes a while to decipher. What is in front of you, what is behind, what is an actual object, what is just the image of an object. The result is a little messy, but cities are messy!

This photo was taken on a visit to Vienna. After seeing all the standard sites and the centre city, map in hand I gave myself a day to just wander aimlessly and see what I discover. I discovered modern Vienna and the other site of the Danube where the city stops being post-card cute and graphic and turns into a 21st century city.

As a bonus I'll also include the photo I took immediately after the first one. This one is far more powerful graphically.
