The past couple of weeks have been quite busy, and I've been quite tired. Ending the semester is always a bit stressful, but this time I also have a big paper due for my class. As I mentioned before, Josh's aunt bought me the Deceptively Delicious book and a food processor too. A couple days after Christmas we went to the store and I bought broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, spinach, and sweet potatoes (plus I had a butternut squash at home) in hope of turning them to puree and sneaking them in foods.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving with my dad and his fiance (yeah, I never mentioned his recent announcement) and a few other people at my sister's place. Thanksgiving weekend started off as usual, with me baking. I made some pumpkin cookies (with fresh pumpkin) and Sara Lee helped me make some pies. I'm always in charge of desserts at Josh's family's holiday dinners.

While in England we stopped to visit my mom's childhood friend Sue who made us a feast of a lunch. Included was a most delicious trifle. When we did our sweet shopping at the grocery store in the UK we bought some Bird's Custard and Trifle sponge. So I decided to make trifle to take to my mother-in-law's today. I am taking a break from making bento for at least the next month. The next two weeks are stressful/busy ones with parent teacher conferences coming up, as well as other end of the quarter going-ons. This weekend I've avoiding stuff I have to do, but keeping busy nonetheless. I've been knitting like crazy on Bad Penny while watching some Vincent Price movies (Dragonwyck, Baghdad, and The Three Musketeers).
