Thanksgiving Weekend

Nov 24, 2007 07:33

Thanksgiving weekend started off as usual, with me baking. I made some pumpkin cookies (with fresh pumpkin) and Sara Lee helped me make some pies. I'm always in charge of desserts at Josh's family's holiday dinners.

They are really delicious cookies with oatmeal and cream cheese frosting. They come out more orange if you use canned pumpkin. Since it's a published recipe I can't post it here, but if you want it I can email it to you. Trust me, it's a really tasty treat!

I'm not really in the Christmas mood this year. We probably aren't even going to put up our tree. I have absolutely no desire to go shopping (esp. on Black Friday) and besides, I've already finished half my shopping. I'm also going for cheap and simple presents this year, and probably not going to craft many of them.

Yesterday we went to the movies and dinner with Barbara (who needs to get an LJ account already) and Jason. We stopped by Ikea, which wasn't busy at all and surprisingly no one came out with a purchase. We found some awesome hand puppets and I did a great Lamb Chop impression with one and I hope Barbara's tummy isn't hurting from all her laughing anymore. We also found some other cute stuffies. I'm holding some kind of beetle and she's got an alligator.

I also knit this for part of my mom's birthday present. I had knit her a scarf and gave it to her early to use while in the UK.
