This weekend I've avoiding stuff I have to do, but keeping busy nonetheless. I've been knitting like crazy on Bad Penny while watching some Vincent Price movies (Dragonwyck, Baghdad, and The Three Musketeers). The progress is slow, even though my knitting is becoming significantly faster. This is where I am at so far:
It looks uneven, but it's just because it is still on circular needles and bunched up on one side. The sleeves are formed and I am working on the body. It seems like my calculations were off a bit and I'm going to have to dye some more pink yarn. I'm also scoping out possible next projects. My mom and I are also planning on getting some "English" patterns while in the UK next month. She complains that American ones are written strange.
I've also been cooking/baking a lot this weekend. It started yesterday when I made potato pancakes for breakfast. I hadn't made them in years, but they came out too yummy. I had some sour cream and organic sugar-free applesauce on the side.
Last night I made cheese lasagna and snuck some tofu into the ricotta cheese. It's a great way to mask some protein in it and reduce the amount of cheese (and calories/fat that cheese adds). It was very delicious! My brother had some bananas that he didn't eat and were getting brown and mushy so I made some banana bread. And this morning I made some cinnamon french toast, and I think it was my best batch! I guess I'll be gaining about 5lbs this weekend!
