You know, I'm not sure I ever posted this but, somewhere right around week 3, breastfeeding stopped sucking so much. (I feel like there's a joke in there somewhere...). About a week ago, Zaine went from quiet, alert, and mostly calm during the day to super fussy/screaming anytime he nursed. At first I thought it was just normal fussiness or maybe colic (ack!) and then when it kept occurring and I realized it correlated with his feeding, I started getting worried. Yesterday morning I woke up a little late and texted my supervisor to let her know I'd be about 45 minutes late to work. I actually got ready faster than I planned and probably would've only been about 30 minutes late except that when I got into my car to leave, it wouldn't start. Despite my daily pep talks about how nice it is outside and how his Mommy, Daddy, and big sister are really ready to meet him, baby boy is staying put. I told Elery last night, "I just don't think he has any interest in being born." the last few weeks of pregnancy
The last stretch of pregnancy is hard. Yes, "it won't be long now" and "it's just a few more weeks" but it is a few more HARD weeks so the fact that there's weeks left isn't really uplifting. I told Elery, I feel like I'm making up for the rest of the pregnancy being so easy by these last few weeks being so difficult. I am always uncomfortable. ( Read more... ) -
weather and moods
It is amazing what the weather will do for my mood. On Saturday it was in the 50s and raining all day. I was grumpy and bored. Then on Sunday the sun was shining and it reached 79*...I was happy as a clam ( Read more... )
