breakdowns, deals, and kid stuff
In the last month and a half, the following things have gone wrong/broken in our household:
* My car (starter/relay)
* Dryer
* My car again (something to do with the ignition and shifter, very expensive)
* Elery's car (spark plugs and something else that I don't remember)
* My car for the third time (same problem as above--bad part, fixed for free)
* Downstairs toilet (leaked and partially flooded the basement)
Man! When it rains it pours! We had a bit in savings but that is dwindling fast so things need to STOP breaking!
Thankfully, it hasn't all been bad. In the last month and a half we've also had good things happen:
* Zaine's birth (obviously!)
* Bought a really cheap pop up camper to work on
* Buying my MIL's Lexus SUV for a great deal!
* Getting a decent offer from CarMax on my Saturn
Tonight is Savannah's school music concert. As long as the weather isn't terrible, we're going to go out there to see her perform. Hopefully Zaine does well with the drive. It's an hour each way. He'll probably sleep! The trip might end up being a good thing because he has been sooooo hard to get to sleep lately! It took me 2 and a half hours to get him to fall asleep last night. Everytime I'd lay him down, he'd wake back up and require LOTS of effort to fall back to sleep. And then today, he's not napping well for me (or any day really). It took over an hour to get him to fall asleep and he slept for 30 minutes. Ay yi yi. He must get this from his father--I love to sleep! We're also still waking up every hour and half at night. I got a few 3-4 stretches a handful of times (ever) but more often then not it's every hour and a half. So dreading going back to work if he stays on this schedule. It's so hard being the only one who gets up with him at night.
Well he woke up from his super short nap so I better go tend to him!
