I could have chosen to go to the CAM conference instead of going to Vegas with my friends, but I didn't.  With my future still in limbo, I don't feel ready to step back into the midwifery world.  I have lingering feelings of being a fool, a failure and I don't have an ounce of confidence - not really how I want to present myself.

I offered a stack of midwifery books to my fellow birth junkies, and I sent two boxes of outdated or not-so-useful midwifery books to the charity bin.   I look at the two full bookshelves I have left and wonder what will happen to them all; will I use them in my own practice, donate them to charity, or pass the baton and give them to friends?  I ( Read more... )

I attacked my bookshelves tonight, pulling off birthy/midwifery books that I no longer want, need, or find useful.  The ones that I think some people may find useful will be donated to charity, some will just be put in the paper recycling, and a precious few may find new homes with my midwifery peeps.   Besides two very full bookshelves, I had ( Read more... )

This morning was spent doing housework and final preparations for Charlotte's party, and Charlotte's party this afternoon was enjoyed by the 7 adults, 1 teenager, and 11 kids between the ages of 2 months and 9 years.  Lots of joyful noise, food, and laughter!  After supper tonight I went to the first meeting with my friends who are going to Vegas ( Read more... )

Jack woke up at 3 a.m. to go to work and I woke up when his alarm went off.  I couldn't fall back asleep so I put on my fleece robe, made some toast, and organized some more pictures on my computer.  I'm sure I'll start getting sleepy around 6 a.m. and hopefully the girls will let me sleep in ( Read more... )

Yesterday was my first day as an unemployed student and my alarm clock was set for 5:15 a.m.  Bleh.
