quiet evening thoughts

I offered a stack of midwifery books to my fellow birth junkies, and I sent two boxes of outdated or not-so-useful midwifery books to the charity bin.   I look at the two full bookshelves I have left and wonder what will happen to them all; will I use them in my own practice, donate them to charity, or pass the baton and give them to friends?  I ( Read more... )

I am thinking of you. And you know what; I have been entertaining the thought of making each of my kids a scrapbook. Sole inspiration: you. I am not, no, not crafty, but I am hoping to muster up the motivation to give it a try :)
I am so excited for Kim! I hope she finds a decent little pad!

Thanks Melissa :-) Scrapbooking is like any other hobby, you can make it as complicated or as simple as you like. You can sum up a year on a few pages (highlights and holidays throughout the year), or do a 'school' album only (again, a summary type). I started doing a chronological scrapbook for Kim and have continued that with the other girls and even though I generally scrapbook the highlights and things I want them to remember, it's still a lot of work.

I often think of how much I would have loved to have something like these scrapbooks, of myself as a child! And yes, it's a bit of work to get started - choosing, gathering, printing, and sorting pictures is really the biggest task. One bite at a time, right?
