I attacked my bookshelves tonight, pulling off birthy/midwifery books that I no longer want, need, or find useful.  The ones that I think some people may find useful will be donated to charity, some will just be put in the paper recycling, and a precious few may find new homes with my midwifery peeps.   Besides two very full bookshelves, I had stacks of books, binders, and magazines that I went through as well.

I'm dusty and sweaty, but it was oddly therapeutic to get rid of stuff from my midwifery-past (but not my midwifery-future, if there will be one).  After all of the crap that I've dealt with over the past few years, it feels good to get rid of some of the residue from it all; ripping the College of Midwives of Manitoba PLEA handbook apart and tossing it in the recycle bin felt especially good.
