This morning was spent doing housework and final preparations for Charlotte's party, and Charlotte's party this afternoon was enjoyed by the 7 adults, 1 teenager, and 11 kids between the ages of 2 months and 9 years. Lots of joyful noise, food, and laughter! After supper tonight I went to the first meeting with my friends who are going to Vegas with me in October; more joyful noise, food, and laughter. It was a busy, loud, wonderful day and now I'm enjoying the cool basement, a cold drink, and the quiet. I'm glad I have a week of relative peace and relaxation before the craziness of grad begins!
These were the infamous cupcake pops. The chocolate wouldn't set so I put them in the freezer for a while and when they came out, they 'sweated', then melted and fell apart. My mom took them off the sticks and put them on a plate to eat. They looked pretty messed up, but they tasted good anyway.
Charlotte's cake, right out of the pan. I had to level them off before I put the top and bottom together.
Icing the bottom (on my makeshift cake decorating stand)
Icing the top (ohhh, the concentration!)
Charlotte was very pleased with her Pinkalicious cake and cupcakes!
We bought her a Pinkalicious dress-up dress to wear at her party.
I love her little braids (thank you Kim!), and her wings ;-)
I saw these cupcake sandals and knew I had to buy them! Her feet are covering the pictures of the cupcakes on the sole of the sandals. (And it's obvious how much Jack has been working because she really needs a pedicure! LOL)
All set up for the party!
'Pink' food in the green tray, and green food in the pink tray (to reverse the "pinkititis" - LOL)
Goodie bags. I found these cute little cupcake boxes and put bright pink coconut marshmallows in them :-)
At the start of the party, I read the book "Pinkalicious" so that everyone would know the story, then Charlotte read it to everyone. She knows almost all of it by heart!
I found cupcake coloring sheets on the internet and the kids colored them. The two littlest ones had more fun throwing pencil crayons and eating wax crayons, but everyone had fun.
Charlotte loves to color!
My mom, hiding behind Charlotte because she doesn't like having her picture taken.
Kim had plenty of cuddles with my friend's baby
One of the adorable guests at the party :-)
Jack still has the touch; he held Cort and gently swayed him back on forth on his knees until Cort fell asleep :-)
earth_moves enjoying the fruits and veggies (and cupcakes!)
My mom had some baby snuggles too :-)
My Pinkalicious Charlotte was excited when it was finally cake time!
Yes, I really was there! Lighting the candles here....
"Happy Birthday dear Charlotte...."
It took her several tries, but she blew out her candles all by herself this year!
She was very excited to get this "
Tangled" toy from my mom and step-dad!
Jack and I bought her a Pinkalicious doll
