Foody Thursday - Chili

Nov 14, 2013 22:14

It is getting cold and yucky outside - time for Chili!

1. Ground beef - 2 lbs - cook in a frying pan with a bit of oil

2. Dump the cooked beef into a slow cooker

3. Add 2 jars of tomato sauce (I have this Ragu kind) - 500 grams per jar

4. Add 2 cans of rinsed red kidney beans (sometimes I use chick peas, or white beans or a mixture)

5. Add 4 large chopped red bell peppers, chopped celery stalk.

6. Add spices - pepper, chopped garlic, don;t forget salt. I always add honey, helps reduce the acidity created by tomato sauce.

7. Turn on a slow-cooker! I cook for 3 hours on "high"

8. Voila! Enjoy!
