I am a self-taught sushi maker. I have no idea whether I am doing it right or wrong, but my family enjoys it, so here I go! This is how sushi are made at
Long Branch!
As usual starting with the ingredients:
Nishiki rice - I used 3 cups
Water - 4 cups
Rice vinegar - 1/4 cup
I am cooking rice in a rice-cooker, following the instructions on the package, per 1 cup of rice add 1 and 1/3 cups of water. Add rice vinegar to the cooked rice.
Here is what we used this time, from left to right, from top to bottom:
Crab Meat
Cooked Shrimp
Mango
Red Bell Peppers
Pickled Salmon
Cucumbers
Everything cut into thin stripes
Now, lets get our bamboo mat and start rolling
My favorite kind - shrimp + mango
It takes English better then mine to explain the rice spreading-rolling-cutting process, so I just made a short video for you! My Japanese friends, if I am doing something wrong - please, let me know, I really want to master this one!

Voila! Enjoy!
