Foody Thursday - Poutine

Oct 24, 2013 20:50

It is getting cold outside and we only have to wait another 6-7 month for the ray of sun. Oh, well, when your tummy is full it should not bother you that much. Lets get cooking. It is Poutine for today. #Poutine, #delicious, #die for :)

We will need:

Potatoes, of course! You can make your fries from scratch, but since I am selling homes and cooking in between, I am using McCain. And they are not even paying me for advertising, pretty disappointing....

We will also need our Sauce Blanche de base - see Beef Stroganoff for instructions.
I like a bit more flavor for my Poutine, so, we will add dry mushrooms - powdered in a blender and of course thyme! Thyme in a mushroom sauce is classic!

1. Ready fries
2. Mushroom sauce
3. Grated cheese - a LOT!

I am using onion soup pots! Potatoes go first!

Followed by sauce and cheese.
Now we have two options - slow bake and fast grill. For slow bake you will need lids, temperature of 180C and about 30 - 40 minutes. For fast grill - no lids, temperature - Grill High, or about 230C and about 10 min. I picked option #2

Looks pretty yummy! Bon appetit!
Oh, and if you don't have pots - plates + microwave would also work. And please, remind me to cook onion soup for you next time!
