8 weeks = 259 miles
In the past 8 weeks, I've walked 550,800 steps, or 259 miles. This is from a starting point of doing nothing at all in terms of activity other than fairly sedentary daily living. This is also 10% over my goal. I'm very pleased, to put it mildly.
Some things I've learned:- The nearest used bookshop is a 4-mile walk away....one way. That means 8 miles ( Read more... )

First interview posted
In the ramp-up to tomorrow's release of Changing Gears, the Eurerpe blog has posted an interview with yours truly. (Euterpe is the YA imprint at Musa Publishing.)

Seven days and counting!
I've been quiet about it so far, for...reasons. But just a reminder:
Changing Gears, my YA sports novel, will be released next Friday, 20 July (e-format only).
The novel is about bike racing, with a strong GLBT subplot. So strong that, exciting to say, at the very last minute the publisher decided to list it in their GLBT imprint as well as their YA ( Read more... ) -
100 (plus) miles
Back in May, I decided I really needed to make a commitment to getting out and walking more. I even started parking partway to the office and walking the rest of the way.

As it turns out, Barry was right that the spirals were watermarks on the image and not part of the 'real thing'. Spring afghan
I'm crocheting a series of afghans to use as 'decor'. So far I've completed one for Halloween and one for Christmas. I'm about 2/3 the way through a 'winter' one, but it's quite thick and the weather has warmed up too much to have that much heavy fabric covering me while I work. I'll finish that one in the autumn, and it'll be ready for next winter ( Read more... ) -
Latest completed project
I finished my Zen Jacket over the weekend. I need to get some better photos, but this gives you an idea what it looks like. And it's nice and warm, being crocheted with aran/worsted weight yarn in double (British triple) crochet. (Yarn is Caron Simply Soft Paints, colour Oceana.)
