So I've started a new afghan and a new cardigan.
And I've started learning how to knit! It's HARD!!! I'm sure my fingers will get used to the new motions, but BOY did I feel inept.
On the new crochet projects......
This is a
Corner to Corner throw. You work on the diagonal, starting with one block for the first row (lower right in this photo), two blocks for the second row and so on 'til the halfway point, then decrease one block per row until you finish. (In case you're wondering, I weave the ends in as I go, but I don't cut off the extra until after I wash the item.)
A closeup of the stitchwork. It's considerably heavier than I expected, which makes it the perfect throw for the sofa during winter.
Here's the beginning of a
Zen Jacket.
A closeup of the stitchwork.
And last but not least, here's photographic proof of the results of my first knitting lesson. A little bit pathetic, I know, but you gots to start somewhere.
Today, I cast on a row and have been practicing the knit stitch. The gal taught me the purl stitch and binding off, too, but for today, I'm concentrating on teaching my fingers knit. Tomorrow is soon enough to add purling.
Also, in writing news, my subconscious seems to finally be sorting out problems with my adult novels. Maybe progress will, yanno, progress soon.
