Title: Movie Night
Author: critic2000
Pairing: Olivia/Natalia
Rating: PG-13 to start, for violence (non-sexual) and language. I am not any kind of a medical expert so if there are some glaring errors, please forgive me.
Disclaimer: I don’t own the Guiding Light characters, they belong to CBS and Proctor and Gamble.
Summary: This is set in the spring of 2009. I’ve taking some liberties with the storyline, mainly Natalia never slept with Frank, hence no engagement etc. So our girls have been just continuing forward raising Emma and getting closer to each other though they are still technically just friends, but that will change… This is a hurt/comfort story so they are headed on a rough ride.
Author’s Note: This is my first fan fiction so please be gentle. This would not have been possible if not for the persistent nudging and awesome editing of my beta/great friend croftlara. Comments are welcome.

Olivia virtually bounced inside the elevator as it rose, stopping occasionally at the floors along the way to let guests in or out of the car, the contents of the plastic bag in her hand shifted with the movement. While she was glad business was picking up, she cursed every stop that held her up from being with Natalia. When the elevator finally stopped at her floor, she rushed out before the doors were fully opened and made a beeline for her room. Just as she was about to put the keycard into the lock she paused and took a deep breath. We’re just going to the prison to see Rafe, it’s not like a date so why am I so excited to see her again? Her mind reasoned it must be because they had barely been apart in recent days and she just plain missed her… My what? Girlfriend? Olivia mentally set that aside to consider for later, released the lock and pushed open the door. With her most winning smile set on her face she walked into the room expecting to see Natalia sitting on the bed watching TV or at the desk but instead the room was dark and empty.
“Natalia?” Olivia called out as she put the bag down on the bed and made her way around the room looking for any indication of where Natalia was. “Where are you?” She added under her breath as she headed for Emma’s room.
***
Natalia stepped into the elevator eager to get to the room. Just as the doors were closing a hand slipped in between them and a harried family of four loaded in next to her each pulling a suitcase. She smiled and squeezed into the back corner and tried to stay out of the way as the youngest of the children pressed each floor number just to see the buttons light up.
“Ricky, stop that!” The mother admonished as she grabbed the boys’ hand from the panel before he managed to press the last two buttons. The stressed looking woman tested a look back at Natalia who though groaning inside merely smiled, “It’s okay, I have a son and when he was that age he loved pressing the buttons too.”
Before the mother could respond, Ricky tugged at her sleeve, “Mommy, I have to pee!”
“We’re almost to the room.”
“No mommy! I have to pee NOW!”
Obviously holding her temper as the elevator doors opened for non-existent guests, the woman responded, “Well we would be there already if you hadn’t pressed all of the buttons.”
The boy grabbed his crotch with both hands and started ‘dancing’.
“Richard!” The father spoke up, “Behave!”
The boy groaned while his older brother laughed and Natalia wondered what floor they were heading to, much longer and with the way little Ricky was dancing, she would have to call a maid to clean the elevator’s carpet.
After the sixth floor Natalia was beginning to think this was going to be the longest elevator ride in history, Ricky was whimpering now and his poor parents just kept looking up at the numbers above the door waiting for theirs to light up.
The mother turned back to Natalia, “Umm, I hate to ask, we’re on the seventeenth floor, he’s really got to go, are you before or after that?”
Realizing it would be more effort to fight through the people and baggage in front of her than to just wait Natalia offered, “Before but don’t worry about it, I can ride back down.” Natalia tried to gauge what time it was, would Olivia be back for lunch yet?
“Thank you… it’s been a bit of a drive today, we’re just thankful we were able to get an early check in.”
“Well we make every effort to accommodate guests whenever possible.”
The mother raised her eyebrows as she glanced at Natalia’s open jacket looking for a nametag, “You work here?”
“Yes I do, my name is Natalia Rivera, I’m the owner’s personal assistant.” She extended her hand and the mother tentatively reached over her dancing son to shake it before apologizing for her son’s behaviour.
Natalia held up her hand to forestall any further apology, “Again, please don’t worry, I completely understand.” Natalia looked up at the numbers above the door and watched as her floor number lit up, the doors opened, they closed and they were on their way again until finally the seventeenth floor appeared and she smiled and watched the family struggle to get out of the elevator. When they finally all left and the doors began to close Natalia called out, “Have a nice stay!”
Natalia leaned back against the wall and sighed as the car began to rise again as there were several more buttons still lit before she could ride back down to her own floor. She considered getting out and taking the stairs but didn’t think it was in her best interest at the present moment to be doing that much activity. I’m coming Olivia, eventually.

Olivia slowly came out from Emma’s room with her brows knit, “Where are you Natalia? You shouldn’t be going out alone.” She huffed out a breath and reached into her pocket for her Blackberry and pressed number one on her speed dial while clearing her throat. The phone rang twice before it was answered. “Natalia?”
“Olivia, umm hi!” Natalia enthused.
“Where are you?” Olivia questioned as she plopped down on the edge of the bed.
Natalia looked at the elevator buttons again for the millionth time since the boy pressed them, six more floors to go, “Just riding the elevator, you?”
“Riding the elevator?” Geez Natalia how bored were you? “Ah… well do you think you’ll be back soon?”
“Just another six, oh make that five floors and I can come back down.”
Olivia shook her head now very confused, had she not just left that same elevator?
“Okay, well I guess I’ll see you when you’re finished.”
“I look forward to it. Oh Olivia can you take the sandwiches out of the fridge, they’re probably really cold.”
“Sure. Well… okay then… umm have fun, I’ll see you soon.” Olivia pulled the phone from her ear, looked at it rather perplexed then disconnected the call.
Natalia chuckled at the tone in Olivia’s voice before she ended the call and put the phone back in her pocket. I’m not crazy… really.
***
Olivia was just finished pouring two glasses of water when the door clicked and opened admitting a guilty looking Natalia.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t here…”
“It’s okay, you’re here now.” Olivia grinned at the younger woman before holding her arm out over the blanket spread across the floor. “Sandwiches are ready when you are.”
Olivia had considered although it was a little early in the season for an outside picnic in the park, they certainly could have one in their room.
“What’s this?” Natalia asked moving further into the room, depositing her purse on the bed. She went to take her jacket off but before she knew it Olivia was there helping to pull it from her.
“We have the perfect lunch for a picnic but it’s too cold to sit on the ground outside so I thought we could have one in here.”
Natalia stared at the incredible woman in front of her and could only manage one word as the sudden emotion she felt made her fight impending tears at the thoughtfulness of her friend, “Wow.” She worked her way closer to the blanket and saw their sandwiches resting on plates, water in champagne glasses with a bowl of strawberries and other fruit in the centre. Was that a little dish of chocolate next to it and whipped cream on the other side? “Oh Olivia…” Natalia said around the growing lump in her throat.
Joy filled Olivia as she watched Natalia look over the spread, knowing she did good. All she wanted was to make Natalia happy and it looked as though she hit the mark for the moment. “Come on, why don’t you sit down before the ants come and cart it all away?” Olivia winked and pressed her hand against Natalia’s back.
Both ladies sat on the blanket within touching distance; they picked up their glasses and clinked them together in silent toast before beginning their meal.
Olivia took a bite of thick peanut butter and banana sandwich and chewed for a long time while Natalia watched her struggle with the peanut butter, “Mmm… delicious.”
“It’s a little thick but that’s your daughter, she wanted to make it special for you.”
Olivia laughed openly, “Yes it is a bit thick but I’ll tell her it was perfect.”
After another bite of sandwich and some small talk Olivia asked, “Where did you go earlier?”
Natalia finished chewing and swallowed, “I went for a walk.” She hoped the short explanation would do but one look at Olivia’s raised eyebrows indicated she would have to elaborate. “I took a cab to the church then went for a short walk by the river.”
A trip to her place of worship was a common occurrence for Natalia so Olivia didn’t feel any need to question it but she did worry that she had gone by herself, especially for a walk. “You felt up to doing that by yourself? I’d have been happy to go with you.”
“Oh I know Olivia but I’m feeling stronger.” Natalia hesitated, “I haven’t been there for a couple of weeks…”
Sensing something wasn’t completely right Olivia pressed, “Is everything okay?”
In a rush Natalia responded, “Oh of course! I… I just needed to go.”
Despite her own Catholic upbringing, Olivia knew this was an area in which she could never compete with Natalia not that she had any desire to. Olivia never quite knew what to say when Natalia brought up her church so she merely nodded and said ‘I understand’ though she really didn’t understand the need to sit in an empty church or light candles but Natalia felt at home there and that was all that mattered. “Did you have a nice walk?”
Natalia lowered her head shyly, “I started to but then I missed you so I came home.”
The right side of Olivia’s mouth quirked up into a grin as her heart swelled with love. “I missed you too.”
Natalia’s eyes rose to meet Olivia’s. Had she ever felt this way about anyone before? No… not even Nicky. There had never really been anyone else worthy of mention, I guess I was always so focused on Nicky but now… now there’s Olivia and it felt so… right.
Though Natalia had been watching Olivia she missed what the older woman had said. “Pardon?”
“Just wondered if you’d like a strawberry?” Olivia purred as leaned over and picked up one of the plump fruits, dipped it in chocolate and brought it to Natalia’s lips.
Natalia opened her mouth, accepted the treat and giggled as some of the chocolate dripped from the strawberry across her bottom lip.
“I’ve got it.” Olivia announced when Natalia started to raise her hand to wipe it.
Olivia leaned over and kissed it from Natalia’s lip. Drawing back she groaned, “Mmm, very good.”
“Your turn.” Natalia picked up a berry and dipped it in the whipped cream before presenting it to Olivia but before she could open her mouth Natalia dabbed it across her nose then cheek. “Oops, sorry. Don’t worry I’ll get it.”
Olivia’s heart picked up its rhythm as Natalia approached her and kissed and licked the cream from her, the berry in her fingers forgotten. The kiss made its way to Olivia’s lips and deepened. Their tongues intertwined and danced around each other and moans escaped both throats until the heated kiss ended and both women sat back panting.
“Woah.” Natalia breathed, her mind and body whirling in question and sensations she wasn’t used to feeling.
“Ya, woah.” Olivia agreed, fighting all of her instincts to throw the woman to the floor and make love to her. “Umm… do you want some chocolate for that strawberry?” She nodded toward the now crushed berry in Natalia’s hand.
Natalia looked at her hand and laughed. When did that happen? “No I think I’m good… I’ll just…” Natalia reached for a napkin only to have Olivia grab it first and clean the crushed fruit from her hand.
Olivia wiped the mess from Natalia’s hand as she grew serious, “I have to ask you something Natalia.”
“Umm okay.” Did I do something wrong?
“Earlier when I called you…”
“Yes.”
“What the heck were you doing riding the elevator? It’s not a roller coaster, it’s just not that exciting. Did you forget what floor we’re on? I can write it on your hand if you like.” Olivia lifted the item in question to kiss it.
Natalia shook her head and started to laugh as relief filled her at Olivia’s joke, “Ha ha smarty pants, let’s just say it was either that or try to clean urine from the carpet.”
The utterly confused look on Olivia face was so perfect Natalia left the explanation at that, “I guess we should consider getting ready to go visit Rafe. Thanks for lunch honey, it was wonderful.” Natalia leaned over and kissed a very perplexed Olivia before standing and heading toward the bathroom leaving the older woman on the floor with a napkin full of crushed strawberry.
“Wait, what did you just say?” Was all Natalia heard as she chuckled and closed the bathroom door.
