Title: Movie Night
Author: critic2000
Pairing: Olivia/Natalia
Rating: PG-13 to start, for violence (non-sexual) and language. I am not any kind of a medical expert so if there are some glaring errors, please forgive me.
Disclaimer: I don’t own the Guiding Light characters, they belong to CBS and Proctor and Gamble.
Summary: This is set in the spring of 2009. I’ve taking some liberties with the storyline, mainly Natalia never slept with Frank, hence no engagement etc. So our girls have been just continuing forward raising Emma and getting closer to each other though they are still technically just friends, but that will change… This is a hurt/comfort story so they are headed on a rough ride.
Author’s Note: This is my first fan fiction so please be gentle. This would not have been possible if not for the persistent nudging and awesome editing of my beta/great friend croftlara. Comments are welcome.

Chapter 37
Feeling much better now that Jane had called, Olivia walked back into the cabin intending to go to her room and call Natalia and say good night.
Jeffrey stood when she walked through the door. “Did you have a good walk?”
“Yes actually.” Olivia hung up Reva’s coat and moved over to the living room to sit with Jeffrey and Reva to tell him about the phone call. “Jane called.”
Jeffrey sat back down next to Reva and leaned forward toward Olivia asking, “Everything okay?”
“Yes, seems Emma had a great time, Phillip brought her back to Jane’s and put her to bed then read to her until she fell asleep.”
Reva smiled, “That’s good. It sounds like he’s really trying to get to know Emma and be a good father.”
“Ya know, as afraid of him as I still am and that hasn’t changed, I want this for her. I want Emma to have her father in her life. He’s still got a long way to go for me to trust him but he makes her happy. I just don’t want to see her hurt.”
Jeffrey took Olivia’s hand, “This is a good start for him, for both of you. I’m glad she had fun and that it worked out.”
Olivia smiled, “Me too.” She stood and angled toward the hallway leading to her bedroom, “I’m going to go and call Natalia, then probably just go to bed.”
“Oh, okay, well do you need anything?” Reva asked then added with a small shake of her head, “I can’t believe I’m offering this but do you want me to stay with you tonight in case you have another nightmare?” then added, “As long as you promise not to hit me again.”
In a rush Olivia responded, “Oh God no!” Then tempered her reaction and continued, “Thank you Reva, but I think I’ll be okay.” That would just be wrong on so many levels.
“Well you know where we are.” Phew, I’ve done my good deed for the month.
“Yes I do. See you in the morning. Jeffrey I’ll be ready for eight-thirty.” Turning back she looked at Reva, “Oh and about the ‘promising not to hit you again comment’? Well nightmare or not, you know I can’t promise that.” Olivia winked then smiling continued on to her room.
“Ha ha, very funny,” Reva responded while Jeffrey rolled his eyes.
“Sleep well.” Jeffrey wished Olivia as he turned to Reva.
“What? She’s obviously happier, I like to gauge her mood by her level of snark toward me.” When Jeffrey just continued to eye her she added, “That comment equaled feisty, that’s a good thing Jeffrey. I knew there was something about her when you got home. She’s turning a corner and I’m glad. Really.”
“Well I hope you’re right, I think she’s still got a long way to go.”
“That may be but every time she throws attitude my way, hell every time she smiles it means she’s one step closer out our door.”
Jeffrey couldn’t help by let out a chuckle. “I don’t really get you two but if both of you can be happy at the same time then I’m all for it.”
Reva leaned in and kissed him soundly.

When Olivia arrived at her bedroom she went inside and closed the door, locked it and crossed to Natalia’s bag. Wait, I should call her first.
Olivia quickly changed into her pajamas then called Natalia. Two rings and the phone was answered, “Natalia Rivera’s room.”
“Frank? What are you doing there again?” It came out more sharply than she intended.
“Oh hi Olivia,” Frank put his hand over the receiver of the phone and whispered to Natalia, “It’s Olivia.”
Natalia responded, “I got that. Can I have the phone please?”
“Ah yeah.” He handed over the phone. “I’m just going to go to the little boy’s room; I’ll be back in a few minutes.”
Natalia nodded and put the phone to her ear. “Olivia? Is everything okay?”
“Yes, Jane called a few minutes ago and everything is fine. Emma had a great time with Phillip.”
“Oh I’m glad.”
“What’s Frank doing there again?” Olivia couldn’t help but ask. “Didn’t visiting hours end over an hour ago?”
“Well, yeah he stopped by shortly after you left. I think he feels he has to protect me or something. I don’t know. Does that bother you?”
“No,” Olivia quickly answered while trying to sound convincing, “I’m glad he’s there.”
“Really?” Natalia did not quite believe her.
“Well I’d rather that I were there…” Her voice trailed off before changing the subject. “Hey, how are you feeling? Was your dinner as exciting as lunch?”
Oh I’d rather you were here too. “I feel good. I got up to use the bathroom and walked around the room a bit more, with help but I still did it. And my dinner was delicious; you know how much I love clear broth and runny Jello. Barely flavoured water and green goo, nothing like it.”
Olivia laughed, “We’ll have to see what we can get Buzz to sneak in tomorrow for lunch.”
“Oh thanks, get me in trouble with Lillian again is what you’ll do.”
“Well I’ll just order you one scoop of ice cream this time.”
“I knew it!” Natalia exclaimed.
“What?”
“You ordered the sundaes, Buzz didn’t just bring those on his own.”
Olivia’s eyes went wide at being caught. “Umm, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“I don’t believe you for a second Olivia Spencer.” Natalia reveled in the deep chuckle heard on the other end of the line. “How has your evening been with Jeffrey and Reva?”
“Ah, well Reva and I really enjoy each other’s company, ya know?”
“Uh oh.”
“No it’s fine, we understand each other. She tried to feed me some inferior lasagna though.”
“Well we can’t have that, I’ll make you a proper lasagna with garlic bread as soon as I can.” Natalia was careful not to say when we get home.
“I’ll hold you to it.”
“It’s a promise.”
The line got quiet for a moment each woman lost in thought, Natalia was avoiding asking about potential nightmares while Olivia was dreaming about having her family sit around the table eating Natalia’s cooking while Emma told her about her day.
A noise in the background on Natalia’s side ended the moment.
“Natalia? Oh I’m sorry I didn’t realize that you were still on the phone.” Frank entered the room fully and sat down in the furthest chair.
“Frank’s back?” Olivia sighed more of a statement than a question.
“Yes, I suppose I should get some sleep.” Natalia hoped Frank would catch that she meant that to him too.
“Okay, well you have a good sleep and I’ll see you in the morning.”
“You too. If you need anything, just call okay?”
“I’ll be fine tonight.” God help me and keep my nightmares away.
Natalia hoped for just that, they both needed a restful night. “Okay, well goodnight then.”
“Goodnight Natalia.”
A click sounded indicating to Natalia that the call had ended. She looked over at a grinning Frank. “I need to go to sleep Frank.”
“Okay well I’ll just wait until you get to sleep and then I’ll go.” I want to be here in case Olivia calls and wakes Natalia again.
Natalia just looked at the man and gave a nod along with a fake smile. “Ah, okay. ‘Night.” She pulled up the blanket a little more and closed her eyes very aware of the other set in the room trained on her. Feeling less than comfortable she tried to ignore him, fortunately her mind was on her friend and she fell asleep thinking about Olivia, lasagna and home.

Olivia ended the call with Natalia and sat on the edge of the bed trying to make a decision. We’re not going to have a repeat of last night. Olivia thought maybe she could will the nightmares away if she hoped hard enough but realistically she feared the worst and was afraid to go to sleep. God I need a drink… Just something to take the edge off.
Decision made she got up and walked over to Natalia’s bag. She put the bag on the bed and unzipped it, put her hand inside and started pulling out little bottles. One advantage of owning a hotel, access to as many little bottles of alcohol as I want. She pulled out two large bottles of alcohol as well. She transferred the little bottles of vodka, rum and whiskey to her bag along with the large Grey Goose vodka, leaving the Jack Daniels with her on the bed. Dr. Rick would hate me for this and I can imagine what he’d have to say about me drinking with a concussion but I just want to relax and maybe feel good for a little while. Olivia tipped her head back. Oh admit it Olivia, you just want a Goddamn drink.
Sitting on the bed, she opened the bottle of Jack and drank. Olivia felt the burn all the way to her stomach. “Whoa, that burns a little. Round two.” Another drink, she was starting to feel a little warm from the alcohol. Getting up she walked over to the shelf on the wall which held a variety of books. Scanning them she finally found one and pulled it from the shelf, Danielle Steele’s Kaleidoscope. Lemme guess, this is yours Jeffrey? Hehe. Oh what the hell? Maybe it’ll put me to sleep. She grabbed the bottle, turned on the nightstand light and shut off the big light in the room before climbing under the covers along with the book. Studying the book cover, she took another long drink of Jack Daniels. That’s starting to feel better. She opened to the first page and started reading.
Before Olivia realized it, she was nearly a hundred pages through the book and three-quarters of the bottle was empty. She was drunk and she had to use the bathroom. Damn it, okay, let’s do this. She stood from the bed. Whoa. Her head swam and she had to grab the edge of the bed to keep from falling. Taking several breaths to quell the dizziness she was finally able to make her way to the door. Unlocking it clumsily she opened it as quietly as she could, it would do her no favours to wake the rest of the dark house.
Olivia felt her way to the bathroom using the walls and the barest glow of light coming from the open door to her bedroom. Making it to the bathroom without incident, she turned on the light after she had closed the door and when finished she crept back to her bedroom much the same way as she had left it. After re-locking the door she slipped back into bed.
Olivia had to admit she was tired, when she tried to continue to read the book her eyes began to close. Without shutting off the light, she rolled over on her side and quickly fell asleep. The last thought she had before her mind drifted away was of Natalia, Emma and herself, seated around the kitchen table with lasagna in the centre of it.
