“No.” Nick placed a new cup of coffee in front of Greg. “Why?”
“The casting agency send their preliminary list for my comedy and that nerdy guy from that show is on the list. They need my approval to finalise the casting for the pilot.”
“You get to decide that?”
“You think I was born yesterday?” Greg smirked. “It’s in the contract, I’ve had enough arguments over casting, I wanna have the final word.”
“And they agreed to it?”
“Someone may have slipped that I got another offer from a competing network.”
“Someone just accidentally slipped it?”
“Yep. What do you think about foreheads?”
“They’re… in your face?”
“I mean big ones. Like this.” He took a printed headshot from a pile of CVs and handed it over to Nick. “It makes the whole head look huge. Can you imagine that in a close-up?”
“Do comedies use that many close-up?”
“True, but that thing is like an airport landing strip. What do you think about this one?”
“For which part?”
“The one based on Delko.”
“He’s… shirtless. I thought these were all headshots.”
“This guy knows where his strengths lie. Look above the shoulders.”
“Right…”
“Too bad we can’t keep the guy shirtless all the time. Put him in the reject pile.”
“Which one’s the reject pile?”
“The one that’s six times the size of all others.”
“Found it.” Nick left the CV on top of the stack. “Have you selected the guy to play me?”
“It’s not you, it’s a character based on you. All similarities to persons, living or deceased are purely coincidental-”
“Greg?”
“From a legal point of view all likeness of character or-”
“Is that a yes?”
“Yes.”
“Who is it?”
“It’s a surprise.”
“Tell me.”
“This one.” Greg pulled another folder from a smaller stack. “Don’t be too upset.”
“This… He… I…” Nick stared at the picture. “You gotta be kidding!”

“Morning, querido… What’s the occasion?” Eric leaned over Ryan’s shoulder to see the food cooking on the stove.
“What do you mean?”
“You’re making my favourites, did I do something I should know about?”
“Eric…” Ryan turned around to face him. “I think I owe you an apology.”
“For what?”
“That therapy session with doctor Donner… and the homework. You don’t need to do those.”
“Not even the thing with a leather kilt and combat boots?”
“Not even that. And we’re not going back for another session.”
“You wanna switch to a different doc?”
“I don’t have much of a choice, doctor Donner was arrested yesterday. The same guy who recommended her called last night after you fell asleep.”
“Why was she arrested?”
“Well… I don’t know how to say this nicely. She had a skeleton in her closet.”
“What kinda skeleton?”
“The real doctor Donner.”
“She wasn’t a real doctor?”
“She wasn’t even a real woman. It’s already in the news.” Ryan pulled his open laptop from the kitchen table and showed it to Eric. “Apparently he was her patient, and when she decided to moved away from Miami, he didn’t want to let go.”
“So he just killed her?”
“Looks like it. Good thing we were supposed to see her… I mean him… only once a week. We only met him once.”
“How did she get caught?”
“According to the news, someone she knew in Miami saw a poster for his seminar for bitter divorces. He contacted the police and they thought it was an identity theft. When they searched his house they found the body pickled.”
“She kept her…” Eric paused. “He kept her body in her house?”
“Yeah.”
“How Norma Bates… Did he keep all the parts in the original box?”
“I have no idea what that means.”
“Did he… you know…”
“No, I don’t know.”
“Did he… snip snip?”
“Do something with her hair? Probably, he posed as her for three years.”
“I mean… did he… It’s painful to even say it… Did he cut out the little guy?”
“His receptionist? No, there was nothing in the news about it.”
“Do I have to spell it out?! Was he… as female as possible?”
“You mean did he keep all the male parts?”
“Yes!”
“I don’t know.” Ryan shrugged. “Does it matter?”
“No, but he whole thought is… kinda makes me wanna wear a cup twenty-four seven.”
“I can understand that reaction. But anyway… I’m sorry. I should have checked her background.”
“If she, I mean he, fooled people for years, you got nothing to be sorry about.”
“I do, think about all the homework she assigned for you. He. I still get confused with that.”
“Me too… but it wasn’t that bad.”
“She made you spill your guts out to a piece of plastic, and then destroy it in the grill.”
“That last part was actually fun.” Eric grinned. “How often do you get to do something in the name of your mental health?”
“You weren’t the one who had to scratch the melted plastic form the grill.”
“I didn’t know it would stuck like that… But you took me to that doc, so we’re even.”
“Okay.” Ryan agreed. “We’re even.”
