It's cold today,  -19 ( - 24 with the wind chill) but the sun is bright and the snow is sparkly and white.  I decided to take Abby's Christmas flowers and Christmas tree out to the cemetery today, by myself.  There was a lot of snow out there and the trees were still feathered with hoarfrost, which is always so pretty.  The earth is decorated so ( Read more... )

It's been oddly peaceful today and I am grateful for it.  Charlotte slept the first three hours of last night in her own bed, and after I got up at 7:20 this morning, she slept in until 11 a.m. !!  Less than two hours later, she was down for a nap, then up for another hour or so and back down for another nap now.  I've got a lot of things done ( Read more... )

Charlotte wouldn't sleep last night.  She woke at exactly the same moment Jack climbed into bed.  Coincidence?  Maybe.  I punched him anyway, just because.

Julia wouldn't stay out of our room last night, and wouldn't leave even we asked her and told her to.  Jack finally shoved her out of bed on to the floor.  Not hard, but she got the hint.

I had a short nap while I nursed a very cranky Charlotte, to sleep.

Kimberly made lunch while I slept so we've all eaten.

There are dishes to wash, but I don't object since having my hands in hot, soapy water is always therapeutic, especially when it's cold and snowy outside.

Charlotte is being very vocal, Jack is listening to football commentary on the radio, and Julia left the tv on with the volume loud.  A little Scissor Sisters and Bodyrockers to drown it all out.

Charlotte was seriously grouchy yesterday evening but she nursed to sleep at 10:30 and I had her in her own little bed by 11 o'clock.  Of course, I didn't fall asleep until after midnight but she didn't wake up again until after 2 a.m. so she got a good stretch of sleep there.  When I took her to bed to nurse, she did just that - she nursed.  No ( Read more... )
