Everything balances out one way or the other.

I had a rather rough day last week. All those tiny little things that could go wrong did go wrong. I still need to buy a new Kindle but at least I finally have my plane ticket home for winter sorted out.

I finally made it back to D.C.'s Georgetown district which isn't particularly close to where I am but has amazing shopping; Georgetown is sort of the higher end shopping district of D.C. but with some fun and funky shops and cafes as it is close to George ( Read more... )

Time is slowly passing but too slow for my tastes. I sit here in the desert wanting - needing - something more to do than this. I randomly check online for things to do or things to apply to but come up with little to nothing - or without enough time to do what needs to be done for the application process.

I went camping for two nights over the weekend with my family - father, uncle, brother, brother's wife, and 14 mo. old nephew - near Lake Hemet on the way up to Idyllwild which was a nice change from this bloody desert. I had a long day at work, but I met a very, very high-level and lovely woman today in one of my adult classes and we have a really wonderful conversation debating Japanese-English and Western-English, such as the differences between 'high tension' and 'high energy' or 'apartment' and 'mansion', not to mention all the strange Japanese-English names ( Read more... )
