I spent too much today.

But had a blast doing it. I suppose that's a good thing. Ahhh, therapeutic shopping spree.
I finally made it back to D.C.'s Georgetown district which isn't particularly close to where I am but has amazing shopping; Georgetown is sort of the higher end shopping district of D.C. but with some fun and funky shops and cafes as it is close to George Washington U so I suspect a lot of rich college kids head there for a night on the town.
I managed to spend far too much at the MAC cosmetic store, Lush for some fun bath and hair products, and Dean & Deluca for some delicious Mariage Frères tea. A quick stop for a lovely illy latte at a cafe (oh man, how I love illy coffee! Sooo much better than Starbucks) and then meandered on a long walk home (rather than taking the metro) and popping by the Japanese marketplace en route for some good rice for my new Japanese rice cooker.
Wow, too much money spent today but I can't recall the last time I went out and got whatever the heck I wanted not worrying about how much I spent. Yeah, let's not do that again anytime soon but for now it made for a fantastic day alone out and about.
Now I'm home and ready for a cup of my new tea (I've never tried the Bouddha Bleu) and a good book.
It was a great weekend, too. Yesterday I met up with some east coast OBers for an Evangelion movie-a-thon and I brought okonomiyaki fixings and one of the girls made a fantastic green tea strawberry chiffon cake.
All in all I think this was the best weekend that I've had in a long looooong time.
Well, excluding the deletion of my entire music folder on my laptop but as I have a backup drive it wasn't a total loss - just a loss of my newest stuff. Ah well. I grumbled about it a bit yesterday but I'm already over it. My weekend was too good to be pissy about the small stuff.
Now, about that cup of tea...

shopping, computers, mac, anime, washington d.c., food, tea, friends
