Folks talking about the Lil NasX cover of "Jolene" led me to belatedly discover a Sisters of Mercy cover of it from 1983. The sound quality here isn't the greatest, but it's Andrew Eldritch singing "Jolene."

I spent four hours putting up and decorating my six-foot tree alone. This is what being picky gets you. I hurt. I'll be tweaking and repositioning things the whole time it's up.

I broke one favored ornament ball--it couldn't have been the orange one from that set instead?--and part of a glass icicle. It's now a shorter glass icicle.

It's interesting how you can still find new things in old music you've already known. While having my music on Shuffle, the Cure's "Prayers for Rain" came on through my earpods and the humming thrrrrrm of the strings in it really caught me tonight. Keep in mind, this is a song I've heard various times since 1990.
