Return to me

I posted a lot of photos to my Flickr, from Bloomingdale's, Bergdorf Goodman, and Kleinfeld Bridal, all of whom are celebrating Spring in their window displays.

There are some negatives to shooting these. I was very happy with Bloomingdale's flowery, romantic Mother's Day series but when I got home and got a good look at things up close in the photos... some of the wigs are jacked. How did they pass muster? There was a strong breeze inside these windows, which I captured on video here and here. Must be a cold breeze; she should really put more clothes on.

I encourage viewers to look at the larger versions of some of the Kleinfeld pics because the embroidery and small detail work on the dresses are very intricate.

As I was driving around, I marveled at how much sharper everything looked that night than I was used to. I finally realized that so many businesses (as well as city streetlights) have adopted LED lighting, unlike the hazy, smeary glow of yesteryear.

A bit of music....

This is "Floorshow" by the Sisters of Mercy, live at the Royal Albert Hall in 1985. This live version has the simmering drums I enjoy most about this song more prominent in the mix.

This song often makes me cry. I've been through a lot in the last 15 years, physically, existentially, emotionally, and financially. "Lullaby" by Assemblage 23 offers hope and strength to continue on. (The visuals here are not by the song's creator and I ignore them.)
