After a bit of anxious urging from Tracey, the group finally set out to Professor Oak’s laboratory. Tracey got to meet his idol and Ash handed over the GS Ball; the reason they’d set out to the Orange Islands in the first place. Sadly, Professor Oak was unable to uncover the mysteries of said ball and asked Ash to take it to Johto ( ... )

Next up was the episode Oaknapped!, where Ritchie stopped by Professor Oak’s lab in hopes of getting some advice on Eevee evolution. The Professor had gone to the TV station on the Seafoam Islands for a special live show, but when Tracey called them up, it turned out that he’d vanished from the station without a trace. Together with Ritchie, he travelled to the TV station and tried to unravel this mystery. As it turned out, Professor Oak had been kidnapped by Biff- I mean Butch and Cassidy. With use of some clever detective skills and tracking (ironically, Marill and Venonat were not used for this), Professor Oak was saved and all was well. In the episode A Date With Delcatty, Tracey visited Cerulean City once more and was forced to do some chores around the gym while Misty and Casey (another kid from Johto) tried to solve the mystery of a love letter. Next up we have the episode Journey To The Starting Line, where the son of Pallet Town’s mayor, Gilbert, was about to set off on his Pokemon journey. However, the three starter Pokemon ( ... )

Character

Name: Mikuru Asahina
Fandom: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Gender: Female
Age: She passes for a 17 to 18 year old, but in reality, this is unknown.
Time Period: Post-Where Did The Cat Go?, in volume six of the light novels.
Wing Color: Light pink.
History: Hoo boy. First, Here is a timeline. The series is written out of order, with some short stories happening in completely different seasons with other short stories in the same novel. Here are the light novels. Essentially, Mikuru has been through volumes 1 through 4, Endless Eight (which is in volume 5) Live A Live (volume 6), The Day of Sagittarius (volume 5), Charmed at First Sight LOVER (volume 6), Snow Mountain Syndrome (volume 5) and finally Where Did The Cat Go? (volume 6). She's pre the prologue of The Intrigues of Haruhi Suzumiya, however.

Personality: Mikuru is first seen in the first (real) episode of the series. She's dragged into the clubroom by Haruhi, squeaking and confused. This is actually a good depiction of Mikuru, for the most part. She is a timid young woman, soft-spoken and gentle, the definition of "moé". In fact, that's what she's there for. Mikuru is the club's mascot, and spends her time being forced in fetish-y costumes to reel in interest in the club. This is often to her dismay, less the costumes part and more the "being forced to wear costumes" part. Mikuru actually doesn't have much of a problem with her role in the Brigade, as long as she isn't exploited. She enjoys making the tea, and even cheers her friends on, she doesn't even seem to have much of a problem with the costumes. Of course, this is probably because Haruhi wants her to wear them, but Mikuru is decisively more stereotypically feminine than the majority of the girls in the series ( ... )

Even though she is loyal and dedicated, and would jump through hoops for her job and the Brigade -- it's not clear if that's because of her job or because she really cares for her friends. It's clear she likes Kyon, likely in a romantic sense, and it's clear she likes Haruhi. Despite Haruhi's treatment of Mikuru, it's rather obvious they care for each other as friends, especially in later novels. This, however, doesn't seem to translate over to Nagato and Koizumi. In fact, Mikuru seems downright terrified of Yuki, and she tip toes around Itsuki. It should be noted that her fear, or uneasiness, around Yuki carries over to her future incarnation; she's rather quiet and frosty around her in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.

It's easy to see why, though. None of them agree on what Haruhi is, where her powers came from, how they affect the world; Itsuki seems to downright hate Mikuru up until The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya. He explicitly states that he finds the Mikuru Asahina he knows to be a friend. However, he doesn't find the ( ... )

Oh, yeah, she's a complete pushover physically, too. She has no athletic abilities whatsoever, and when Kyon asks if she carries weapons from the future, Mikuru actually states she isn't allowed to carry firearms because they might be too dangerous. It's actually rather sad, if Mikuru is there to attract Kyon (and, well, Haruhi), she's likely very much in the dark. Basically, she can be largely useless, unless she's time traveling. It's not really her fault, though, this is what she was trained for, and how the time travelers handle things. In the future, she doesn't seem to employ any kind of physical exertion either; her dubiousness comes from the fact she's manipulative on the whole. (Which raises questions on how Mikuru eventually becomes that way, but that's not been seen yet.)

Samples (ALL samples must be set in Luceti-verse.)

First Person: The snow is melting. [ This is announced rather eagerly. Clearly, there's something she wants to do with the upcoming season. ] So, spring must be around the corner. I really like when the ( ... )

Character

Name: Henry Wellard
Fandom: Hornblower (television series)
Gender: Male
Age: never specified, but to hazard a guess... 16.
Time Period: From his final appearance in the episode "Retribution."
Wing Color: Red, of the soft variety.
History: In truth, there isn't all that much history to give for Mister Wellard- we never hear about his family, his past, anything: we just know he is a midshipman aboard the Renown at the time that Archie Kennedy and Horatio Hornblower are assigned to it. He only has a role during two episodes ("Mutiny" and "Retribution"), which I'll link to information for below, as well as the series wiki in general.

A brief summary of Mutiny- and a review (which is more detailed in relating the plot and Wellard's role in it).

PersonalityAs first impressions go, Wellard starts up his role in the film a young, impressionable sort of kid, eager to be of use- basically, your typical young midshipman side character in a historical BBC series. He's aware of exactly what his position aboard the Renown entails, responsibilities and the general value of his opinion included. Responsible, well-mannered, obedient and withdrawn until he sees a need to step forward and speak up, with a spot of youth and a sense of humor shining through on rare occasions as well. In line with more recent events, he's also likely to come across as generally downtrodden and quite wary. Think... kicked puppy, still working on bouncing back and not fully grasping what it did to get itself kicked (or that sometimes people will just kick ( ... )

Like many people, Henry Wellard carries with him a definite ability to hold a grudge. At the end of the day he's still a teenager- what he feels, he feels strongly, and he'll make hasty (possibly unwise) decisions in the heat of the moment because of it sometimes. Threatening Captain Sawyer with a gun wasn't a long-plotted, carefully thought-out strategy; it was Wellard, deeply afraid for the men to whom he owed so very much and without any attachment for the person he was threatening. In fact, I imagine that resentment towards Sawyer really factored into the act (considering how, once they got into their final confrontation, Wellard was basically calling him an old fool, dangerous to himself and others ( ... )

Mental: Capable of being clever, if not strictly a genius. He knows his regulations and how to follow orders, which tends to serve him well enough.

Emotional: Wellard's not too bad off on the emotional front- he's pretty mature for his age, which makes sense considering the time period and where he's spending it. When he's facing his first beating, he makes it a point to go into it with his chin up and a brave attitude. In fact, when it really matters and things he cares about are at stake, he's more than willing to step up and do what he feels has to be done.

Weaknesses:
Physical: Physically fit, yes. Superhuman, no. He's probably even a little bit weak for a guy his age, if I'm honest. Wellard can be injured, he can get sick, and he can be clumsy, too- pretty easy target, all in all. Plus he has no skills in hand-to-hand combat, or much combat experience in general (I think he's fired a gun...twice, maybe three times). Sea legs are about the best he's got in the skill department- he's just a teenager, after all.

Mental: Like I ( ... )

Though, this is in no doubt surprising when Featherine has the power to change worlds and what happens within them to her liking with just a mere change of how the world is written. Although she will go by the laws of what gameboard she is in (which is still both her and Tohya’s writing, mind you). It only took a second to completely kill and render a powerful witch--Lambdadelta--as useless and suddenly dead. Although cruel, her motivations for her actions come from wish to relieve herself of a common illness among witches. And that is boredom. It is boredom that is what drives her to take an interest in Beato’s game during Episode 6, 7, and 8--wanting to know the truth, and her motivation to want to know what happens during Battler’s game ( ... )

As said earlier in the application, her witch powers canonly are almost Godlike. she can change stories (though of course, she will be heavily restrained in Luceti’s setting with her power). With just mere writing, she can shift another’s fate to her liking. Something like this is enough to render even great witches completely useless, and can kill others in a mere instant.

Though, her powers don’t seem to be limited from that. As Featherine, she does have hundreds of cats to do her bidding. These cats extremely powerful, and not to be underestimated at all. When Battler, Ange, and Lambdadelta had gone to take Eva’s diary back in the World of Library’s, they were forced to be extremely cautious, or risk getting caught by one of the cats that Featherine controlled.

The rest of her powers seem to be shrouded in mystery. Though, with her having the status of a witch with Godlike powers, it’s safe to say that she is definitely not a force to be trifled with.

Weaknesses: If she has any weaknesses, it’s her sometimes seemingly arrogant ( ... )

HistoryAs with many Jedi, Kenobi's family and planet of origin never took a central role in his life. While he did maintain occasional contact with his family, wealthy natives of the planet Stewjon, his true story started as a youngling training in the Jedi order. Though he was capable and skilled, Obi-Wan nevertheless never impressed any potential masters until very late in his childhood, nearly the age at which potential Jedi are considered too old to be taken as padawans, when a revered Jedi by the name of Qui-Gon Jinn decided to take Obi-Wan as a student ( ... )

History, continuedTen years later, Anakin and Obi-Wan had become close, but found their styles were drastically opposed. Obi-Wan, partially motivated by the aggressive, undefended style that led to his Master's demise, had become a far more defensive and cautious man, both in swordplay and in policy, and this frequently jarred with Anakin's brash and aggressive nature. The two were constantly found to be incompatible in tactics and in behavior, and when the two were separated by differing goals regarding an assassination attempt on the former Queen of Naboo, now a senator, Anakin's own rash impulsiveness drew him into dangerous situations time and again. When Obi-Wan was kidnapped by a coalition of seperatists who sought to secede from the Galactic Republic, Anakin's rescue attempt nearly got the senator and himself killed as well as Obi-Wan ( ... )

History, continuedTragically, it was not to last; while Kenobi was off hunting the Seperatist leader named Grievous, Anakin had finally begun to succumb to the temptations of anger and pride that had been plaguing him for years- fuelled by the encouragement of the Chancellor, who had in secret been the Sith Lord responsible for orchestrating the the events of the Clone Wars from the beginning. While Obi-Wan was defeating Grievous and leading Utapau to freedom from the Seperatist forces, Anakin had led the Jedi Council to the Chancellor and told them of his secret identity ( ... )
