Next up was the episode Oaknapped!, where Ritchie stopped by Professor Oak’s lab in hopes of getting some advice on Eevee evolution. The Professor had gone to the TV station on the Seafoam Islands for a special live show, but when Tracey called them up, it turned out that he’d vanished from the station without a trace. Together with Ritchie, he travelled to the TV station and tried to unravel this mystery. As it turned out, Professor Oak had been kidnapped by Biff- I mean Butch and Cassidy. With use of some clever detective skills and tracking (ironically, Marill and Venonat were not used for this), Professor Oak was saved and all was well. In the episode A Date With Delcatty, Tracey visited Cerulean City once more and was forced to do some chores around the gym while Misty and Casey (another kid from Johto) tried to solve the mystery of a love letter. Next up we have the episode Journey To The Starting Line, where the son of Pallet Town’s mayor, Gilbert, was about to set off on his Pokemon journey. However, the three starter Pokemon fled the laboratory after a stampede and Tracey teamed up with Mrs. Ketchum to try and find them, while Gilbert teamed up with Professor Oak. There was also a group of Primeapes being jerks. In Putting The Air Back In Aerodactyl, Tracey and Professor Oak went on a ‘holiday’ of sorts to visit Gary, who was aiming to become a Pokemon Professor like his grandfather. Gary had revived an Aerodactyl, but it had escaped the laboratory and was freely roaming the island. Butch And Cassidy appeared to try and catch it, but were foiled twice. Eventually, the group managed to gain Aerodactyl’s trust and Tracey befriended a little girl called Crystal. Lastly, we have the episode Luvdisc Is A Many Splendored Thing, in which Tracey visited Cerulean Gym for the third time. There, he was introduced to the new ‘stars’ of the Cerulean Sisters’s underwater show; two Luvdiscs. Daisy then tried to con Tracey and Misty into playing the other two leading parts of the underwater show, which they promptly refused. Predictably, Butch and Cassidy appeared to steal one of the Luvdiscs. Tracey, Misty and Daisy chased after them, only to get themselves and the second Luvdisc captured as well. After successfully escaping their cells and battling the Team Rocket duo with the Luvdiscs, they returned to Cerulean Gym and Tracey got to witness the new underwater show with his own eyes.

At some undetermined point after this, Tracey’s Marill produced an egg, which was given to Misty and hatched into an Azurill. We can assume this happened some time before the Hoenn saga ended, as the Azurill was already with Misty in the episode The Scheme Team. And, well, Tracey had other appearances in later episodes, but Pokemon is an extremely long-running series, so let’s just stick to the history up to the canon point I chose.
