History, continued

Ten years later, Anakin and Obi-Wan had become close, but found their styles were drastically opposed. Obi-Wan, partially motivated by the aggressive, undefended style that led to his Master's demise, had become a far more defensive and cautious man, both in swordplay and in policy, and this frequently jarred with Anakin's brash and aggressive nature. The two were constantly found to be incompatible in tactics and in behavior, and when the two were separated by differing goals regarding an assassination attempt on the former Queen of Naboo, now a senator, Anakin's own rash impulsiveness drew him into dangerous situations time and again. When Obi-Wan was kidnapped by a coalition of seperatists who sought to secede from the Galactic Republic, Anakin's rescue attempt nearly got the senator and himself killed as well as Obi-Wan.
Fortunately, the Jedi Council and Clone Army Obi-Wan had alerted them of were able to save them from a public execution, but when the two were forced to pursue another Sith Lord, Tyranus, a man far more cunning and dangerous than Maul, their contrasting tactics resulted in the Sith Lord easily playing them off of one another, incapacitating Obi-Wan and cutting off Anakin's hand. Only Yoda's timely arrival saved them from Tyranus, though in the end Tyranus was able to escape.
Through the course of the Clone Wars, following Anakin's recovery- and, unbeknownst to Obi-Wan, his secret marriage to senator of Naboo- he and Anakin became far closer-knit, and over the next five years, quickly rose to nearly-legendary stature as heroes of the Republic, dazzling the citizens of the Galaxy through their dramatic heroics, talent for negotiation, and leadership in battle.
This culminated in a rescue of the kidnapped Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Senate, a man to whom Anakin was close. The two managed to infiltrate the ship where the Chancellor was held captive, and encountered Dooku a second time. This time, however, they were able to match him far more skillfully- where before, their styles had been conflicting, now they were complimentary. This was, indeed, a reflection of their relationship, which had evolved from a mere bond between teacher and student into something more akin to brothers.
