Personality: Whatever Battler is thinking is often written right on his face. He has a very open personality, and hardly ever holds in what he's really thinking. First and foremost, he has a very deep love for anyone close to him, namely his family. He will do anything for his family, and he enjoys being around his cousins and laughing with them the most. However, he feels a bit bitter towards his father at times, hence why he had left the family for six years. He was so furious at his father for going off and remarrying so quickly that he went to live with his grandparents on his mother's side. When he returned back to the Ushiromiya side, he put those kinds of feelings to the side. He's a man who's not afraid to cry in front of not only his family but those that are close to him. He’s a very emotional person, and there are plenty of times when his emotions get the better of him. Generally when he feels like he’s been backed into a corner during the course of the games, he’ll just put his head in his hands and begin to wail and ( ... )

All that about him being a pervert though, it melts away as soon as his anger takes over. He is a very temperamental person, and it doesn't take much to sway his mood from being overly happy, to suddenly furious. His beliefs are very strong and if anyone opposes that, he's not afraid to stand up and say what he believes in. Fighting is another thing that comes naturally to him, he's a born fighter, he loves to argue with someone. Since he likes to read books centered around mysteries, no matter how much he tries to deny it, he likes to think up theories in different and exciting ways. One of his strong beliefs is that magic is not real, and everything can be solved by human means. He hates losing, so fighting until the bitter end is something he is definitely prepared to do ( ... )

After Battler had witnessed Beato being crushed by his own powers at the very end of the fourth game, he soon realized that there must be more to this game than what he had initially thought. After musing over such thoughts to himself, he soon understood what Beato had really been trying to tell him and forgave her for everything she had put him through. Just like that, Battler is able to forgive a person for doing such heinous things to him, merely because he sees from their side that they had a motive for such a thing. He’s an all too forgiving character- and on top of that too trusting. With these aspects combined, he wonders why people continue to betray him time and time again- but it’s because he’s too trusting of a person to see when someone is being cruel to him ( ... )

Personality: The best way to describe Kyrie is your ideal aunt - as far as older relatives go, she’s pretty ‘cool’, it seems she can easily relate to the younger generation, has a good sense of humour and gives great advice. She would make a great mother to anyone who wants to be independent, though it’s debatable whether that’s actually ‘good parenting’, of course. Her good nature isn’t limited to her juniors, she has the same attitude with other adults as well and speaks in much the same way with both age groups, which may be why children and teens easily like her. Her idea of a good joke tends to gravitate towards sexual jokes and she loves to tease people about it. Especially her stepson, Battler, he suffers the brunt of her teasing about sex, being an 18-year-old boy, the perfect victim of such teasing - not to mention she likely learned her sense of humour from his father who teases him relentlessly ( ... )

It’s not because there is anything wrong with her, she has no disorder and she is perfectly capable of feeling guilt and true empathy. It’s not even for a reason you might expect from a typical villain (though she doesn’t really qualify as a villain herself), ‘some traumatic event or a troubled childhood that led to disgust with humanity’. No, not at all. She simply believes the only way to get by in life is to be self-interested, to be selfish and take what you need, because if you don’t, someone else will. People have to create their own happiness, it won’t just be given to you, and because of what she feels will make her happy, that means taking some extreme measures. She thinks all people should think that way, and that to some extent they do, even if they’re too afraid to act on it because it isn’t ‘right’, and that’s what sets her apart, she has realized (what she deems) the proper way to survive and to be happy, and she will act on it. To her, the right thing for her (or for Rudolf) IS ‘what is right’. She realizes her ( ... )

She has something of an abandonment issue stemmed from being ditched for Asumu. If she wants to stick with someone, she’s going to practically physically attach herself to them so they can’t get away. Let me share with you some quotes that describe it quite well - “In jealousy there is more of self-love than love” “jealousy is nothing more than a fear of abandonment” “A competent and self-confident person is incapable of jealousy in anything. Jealousy is invariably a symptom of neurotic insecurity.” She IS confident and competent, but that is always threatened by her jealousy, she IS insecure in some ways, and that can start to outweigh the rest. As far as self-love vs. love goes, she does love Rudolf, but aside from that it’s all about her personal gain, her selfishness is something that starts her jealousy going. Even jealousy towards Asumu being with Rudolf, because she is too preoccupied with what will be good for her, she couldn’t see that that relationship was likely the best thing for Rudolf. Though she would normally put ( ... )
