So most of the excitement at our house lately has involved taking care of a newly-diabetic cat - about which there has been a lot of detail in akiko's journal, so I won't go back over it here. She seems to be doing well at the moment, thank goodness.

It took a while and threatened to devour us all, but GameSpite Quarterly 3 is now available for purchase in three delicious flavors. This one is an encyclopedia of 8-bit video game heroes, and was I think the most fun yet to help put together. For the most part I'm loving my new Mac Mini, but one thing about the transition didn't go so well - somehow, when moving over my external HD (which had always been a little flaky) to the new machine, it's file system got corrupted). OSX's built-in Disk Utility managed to repair the partition with my actual important backups, thankfully, but the ( Read more... )

My article from GameSpite Quarterly 2 is now up: Shadow of the Colossus. The "review" is mostly a big tangent; honestly at this point I'm assuming most of the GS audience knows what the game's about, so we're free to explore other avenues. Gamespite Quarterly #2 is now available for order over at gamespite.net (or here direct link to buy, table of contents). It's a bunch of articles about the bestestest games ever.
