I haven't posted anything about games for a while, so here's a quick update over lunch:

Stuff I've been playing -
Finished the last additional DLC chapters of Assassin's Creed II and have now done pretty much everything, including ludicrous things like collecting 100 eagle feathers from random locations across Italy. Still enjoying it, so they ( Read more... )

I don't see why Mac and PC wouldn't be able to share servers. It would be a pretty stupid decision for Steam, because the vast majority of their gamers would still be on PC.

Come play Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead with me and all my buddies!

Well, if it works, be prepared for some serious n00b babysitting, since the last FPS I was good at was Marathon 2 in 1995. ;)

I'll have to keep an eye on it and see if my Mini can handle it.

You want Portal. Anything suggesting otherwise is a wrong statement.

Oh, I've been convinced for ages that I should play Portal, I just didn't really want to pay for a bunch of crappy ports alongside it. Besides, Portal is both relatively cheap and fairly short, so it's pretty much a no-brainer. No, it's the potential time-suck of things like TF2 that are scary. Plus I keep hearing about the tempting sales PC-steam keeps running, which on balance are probably a terrible idea wallet- and backlog-wise.
