Went along to Bryony's 40th birthday party yesterday. A fancy dress extravaganza, held at a cricket club hall in New Malden. A good turn out, with everyone making an effort on the costume front. Went into town yesterday evening for Pete's birthday drinks. At the Windsor Castle, a charmingly old-fashioned and cosy wood-pannelled warren, marred only by a clientele of cool young people. I'd invited various extra people to the pub quiz last night, as it coincided with my birthday. Sadly, it turned out to be one of the years when it clashed with a lot of people's prior engagements - hazard of having a birthday at this time of year. Friday was the Loan Wolves' Christmas party. We met up at the New Rose, and after a few drinks headed to a Brazilian restaurant. All-you-can-eat buffet, and waiters bringing joints of rare beef, chicken wings, chorizo, pork and chicken hearts to serve at your plate. Went over to WW's place this afternoon to look at a bike he's selling. Watched Breaker Morant, in honour of the late Edward Woodward, and selected bits of Blade Runner to showcase WW's awesome new giant screen TV.
