Went over to WW's place this afternoon to look at a bike he's selling. Watched Breaker Morant, in honour of the late Edward Woodward, and selected bits of Blade Runner to showcase WW's awesome new giant screen TV. Then we headed over to Richmond for a concert by his partner's orchestra. We were working the door, along with a violist colleague of Bryony's who was sitting this concert out. Maybe it's like sports teams - not everyone gets to play in every game. We fended off the screaming hordes of music fans and sold tickets and programmes till we ran out, then enjoyed the concert. I liked everything on the programe - Elgar's Froissart Overture, Bach's Double Concerto BWV 1060 (which came up in a
meme last week), Vaughn Williams's Folk Songs Suite (military bands meet folk music - what's not to like?), then after the interval
Saint-Saens' Organ Symphony. The orchestra sounded great, and St John's church was a lovely setting for the performance.
