We narrowly missed the prizes in the quiz last night, despite some great answers from everyone. We also encountered the first evidence (as opposed to occasional suspicions) of cheating we've seen. I'd invited various extra people to the pub quiz last night, as it coincided with my birthday. Sadly, it turned out to be one of the years when it clashed with a lot of people's prior engagements - hazard of having a birthday at this time of year. Some folks did manage to turn out though, and it was lovely to see them, and I had a good night.

Had a couple of guests at the quiz last night. inkognitoh was moored in the vicinity, so she came along. And Andy's ex-girlfriend from university days, Dana, was over from the US. We did quite well, winning by nine points.
Keir came along to the quiz last week. He was just back from a holiday, visiting old friends in Hong Kong and Malaysia. He'd brought Guinness polo shirts for us, trophies from a pub quiz he and his friends had won in HK. On Saturday, I took part in Beerball. ( softball with cakes and strippers )
On thursday, we won the quiz by seven points. On Firday, I went out for "welcome to the world of redundancy" drinks with inkognitoh, silverjet_allie and Pete. We went to the Volunteer, a convivial venue until the braying, arrogant, rude crowds started emerging from Lord's and streaming into the pubs. We had a guest star at the quiz last night. inkognitoh's boat was moored in Little Venice just up the road. So Inkoh came along and helped us to the win with a storming spot on the anagram (Bette Midler).
