     I attended my first auction of 2011 today; The main reason I went was because they were selling a 1984 Versatile 400 Swather, which is a newer model of the one I currently have.  I was hoping that it would sell cheaply, but that was not the case - it wound up selling for $2,500.00, which was well above what I was prepared to pay for it.  It ( Read more... )

     This winter has been even worse than last winter, though we haven't had a major blizzard like the one we had in January 2010.  (Knock on wood!)  Still, the sheer volume of snow has been ridiculous, piling up in the yard two or three feet deep, with drifts five feet deep or worse!  The following collection of pictures gives some idea of what we ( Read more... )

     Tomorrow will mark the 1-Week-Late date, and there's still no sign of this kid.  The doctors will wait one week, but not more than 10 days before inducing, so we've set up an appointment for 7:00am Wednesday Morning to begin the process.  So, this new Kidling has about 28 hours to show up, or we're going in after it!  ;)

     Poor trixstir ; This baby is nearly a week overdue, and despite several false-alarms, there's still nothing really happening.  All we can really do is sit and wait, and hope that the kid finally decides to make an entry into the world.  Unless the baby arrives in the next 24 hours (or least starts to arrive) we have an appointment to see the doctor on ( Read more... )

     Today was the start of the annual Boomtown Days festivities in Shaunavon; Just a small-town summer festival with a parade, flea-market, pancake-breakfast, etc.  I wasn't sure if we were going to go into town or not, but trixstir  was feeling a bit better so we decided to head in and partake in the breakfast and check out some of the other happenings ( Read more... )

Butt-hurting time again...  :P

I spent the better part of yesterday (November 1st) working on the swather.  It still won't start, but with the new battery cables at least it turns over now.  Thus I was able to do a little more trouble-shooting on it.  There are two basic things a gasoline engine needs to run; fuel, and spark.  The nice ( Read more... )

As mentioned a couple of postings ago, I finally got the swather home.  Yesterday, we unloaded it from the transporter, which was quite an experience.
