     Not to make light of the dire situation in Japan - one can only hope that they manage to avoid a complete meltdown of their reactors.  I was watching the CBC world news when they said that there had been another major explosion only three hours prior, and the biggest fear was that this one might have cracked the containment dome.

     I was out trying to clear snow for over five hours today; trying to dig a path from the East side of the shop around to the front with the tractor, so that I could clear the driveway and a path to the West side of the shop.  I didn't get very far though - less than 1/4 of the way, and then I just could't get any more traction.  The tires on ( Read more... )

     Looks like the wonderfully warm Autumn we had is officially over.

     Yesterday started off beautifully.  At 6:30am, the sky was clear and blue, and the sun was just starting to rise up on the horizen.  Gorgeous!  Then, less than an hour later, a thick fog came out of nowhere and plunged everything back into cold shades of grey.  There were the occasional flakes of snow flittering to the ground, but not enough ( Read more... )
