I still want to believe that I would have gotten over the hives by myself EVENTUALLY but I'm glad the doctor's pills are working. The pills are working so good that I don't even want to use the salve he ordered - it's so greasy. I put it on when I first got it yesterday afternoon but do not like the feeling of it. The first thing we did in the Cook's Forest area yesterday was hike a few connecting trails in the Cathedral Forest section. Big trees, big fallen trees laying all over place, big rocks. Majestic. I didn't take any pictures - don't know why. Just walking and looking all around I guess. The dogs needed to be leashed and that took extra attention. It ( Read more... )

Yesterday Candy and I set out to hike the Ridge Trail at the Kennerdell Tract but I didn't have a map and we missed the turnoff that we should have taken so we ended up going on to the Window Trail instead. Just a perfect day for a hike yesterday. Not real hot. Not cold. Sunny, but we were in the woods in the shade most all the time. Some pics:( Read more... )

Had a busy day yesterday and took quite a few pictures. In the morning I walked the Franklin Cemetery as I usually do on Saturday mornings and then Dave and I took the dogs over by Vowinckel and Leeper in the afternoon and walked a ways on the North Country Scenic Trail. We wondered why those young people were in such a big hurry on Tuesday when we saw them near that old homestead site on the Marion Brooks loop trail and yesterday morning there was an article in the paper about a race that they were in to bike, hike and canoe around that area.

Dave and I had a great time on our anniversary yesterday. I think it really helps if we actually DO something for these occasions! The 3 mile hike on the Marion Brooks Loop Trail was perfect. I was afraid it would be too hot by the time we got there but the heat held off. I took lots and lots of pictures of the scenery on the trail but I got them ( Read more... )

Thank you all who wished me a happy birthday yesterday. I had a great day. Went on a hike with Candy on the 2 Erie National Wildlife Refuge trails that are near Guys Mills. Whenever I walk there I always wish they were closer so I could go more often.
