Had a busy day yesterday and took quite a few pictures. In the morning I walked the Franklin Cemetery as I usually do on Saturday mornings and then Dave and I took the dogs over by Vowinckel and Leeper in the afternoon and walked a ways on the North Country Scenic Trail. Such a beautiful evening. If it wasn't so far away I'd go there again and again. There was a beaver dam - lots of bridges to go over. It maybe wouldn't be very nice in a different season (muddy trails) but now is our dry season and it was perfect. After hiking we met Chloe and Mike at Vincent's Tavern near Leeper and had dinner. Pictures:
I got there early enough that the fog was just lifting.
A wife and husband. I thought it was interesting that the stones were touching - I've never seen that before. She had died first. Also interesting that someone (or he) chose such a different looking stone for him. Perhaps they had very different personalities.
I just liked the pattern that the spruce needles made in this puddle.
Autumn is coming - leaves are falling.
This angel holds a little nest with a bird in it. Just a nice thing...
Later at the North Country Trail:
This wet ground has stepping stones made of old cut railroad ties.
Beaver dam lake.
A very lively bridge made on pontoons. The sections pivoted up and down as you walked forward on them. Reminded me of playground equipment.
You can see the beaver dam in this pic.
Nice relatively open area.
I was trying to capture how a ray of light was illuminating the branches on the center tree. The left tree is blazed with the North Country Trail blue color and the yellow color of the Baker Trail - they share the same trail through here. Also by chance it's the colors of Ukraine.
This seemed like a good place to turn around - a pretty little pond.
Dave starting back.
One last picture of the water plant leaves floating on the pond.
Another spot with an interesting bridge. When Rainy got to that part that Dave is climbing up on, for some reason, both times we crossed this bridge she did not want to do that and went down through the water.

The playground bridge on the way back. Rainy was the only one who seemed comfortable with it. She went over it first this time and it didn't move at all.
Well, today has been a lazy day so far. A rainy morning. Dave is talking about wanting to either can red tomatoes or make a green tomato relish again. I guess I have to face that that will be coming up in my future soon. In the meantime since I'm done here on the computer I think I will practice piano. I've been remiss for a few days.
