I slept in until 9:30 this morning!  Very unusual for me, but I guess I needed the rest.  It's been raining all night and it was nice to fall asleep to the sound of rain on the roof.  The beautiful pink/red/green leaves outside my bedroom window have little drops of rain hanging off of them, like tiny diamond earrings - it's really pretty ( Read more... )

I was up for 23 hours yesterday and finally crawled into bed at 5:30 a.m Toronto time.  It was soooo wonderful to crawl into my own bed, sleep on my own pillow, and fall asleep with my beloved.  After a few hours, the girls arrived at home and we walked them to school with the warm morning sun shining, and fall leaves crunching under our feet ( Read more... )

Another 8 hours in the Ryerson library today.  Finished typing class notes, reviewed newborn exam, a little more on epidurals.... a little of this, a little of that.  Bursts of studying punctuated with YouTube videos on heart and lung sounds, brief FaceBook visits, and a 5 minute nap on the bench seat of our study table.  Oh my, but I am tired ( Read more... )

Yep, I'm still here.  No time for posting these days as I'm fighting a daily (losing) battle with study cards, notes, binders full of clinical practice guidelines, and textbooks.  I skype at night with Jack and the girls and spend most of my time yawning.  My day ends right around the time that another one begins, I set my alarm, read a few pages ( Read more... )

By mid-morning, three of us were on the way down the hill to catch the streetcar to get to school, on a day that class was cancelled.  We took advantage of the empty classroom/sim lab and typed up some notes, did some review, and watched a suturing video.  After about 10 minutes of Anne Frye's overly-detailed and slow .... moving .....
