I couldn't fall asleep last night, got up and read my book until I felt sleepy, then finally took melatonin at 2 a.m.  My alarm went off at 6 o'clock.  My eyes burned in protest when I pried them open to put my contacts in this morning.

I slept in until 9:30 this morning!  Very unusual for me, but I guess I needed the rest.  It's been raining all night and it was nice to fall asleep to the sound of rain on the roof.  The beautiful pink/red/green leaves outside my bedroom window have little drops of rain hanging off of them, like tiny diamond earrings - it's really pretty ( Read more... )

This pace of studying and class time is starting to wear on me, on all of us.  My other two Musketeers, Bola and Megan (ha! I named you!) are feeling it as well and we were all totally exhausted last night.  It's another optional day today but we're heading out in the rain soon to go to school and Get Things Done.

We had company last night and the girls stayed up very late, even after they were put to bed.   Unfortunately, the sound of heavy rain and thunder woke them both up at 7:30.  It's unusual to see the fog and such thick, dark clouds.  The thunder has made the windows rattle, the power has flickered several times, and the dog is restless and ( Read more... )

After Abby's birthday and angelversary slipped away without me really having the space I needed, I decided today I would take it, hell or high water.  Well, I was right on both counts.

Got off to a good start - C woke at 5:30 but I was able to go back to bed with her at 7:30 until nearly 11 o'clock!  Of course, Julia came in four times to ask if she could have a friend over (uh, no.  I'm sleeping!) but the extra rest felt great.
